Too fiddly
One of the most annoying features about both the PC version and IOS version is the tilt feature. Why o why is there not a switch/button where you can turn this off? I do see that there is a switch to turn off AUTO TILT, but where is the switch to lock out ALL tilting completely ? I constantly have to keep setting the tilt back to perpendicular as it goes off 90 degrrees by itself.
Please please give me a button to totally disable ALL tilting, totally defeats the point of google earth!!
Why does it automatically zoom out while trying to zoom in ??? - WTx !!!!!
Why does it keep rotating on the slightest touch ? Where's the damping to stop that? Why does the map continue to rotate when you have done a two finger map rotation and your fingers have left the screen ??? The app is great that it allows map rotation but it should stop dead still when fingers leave the screen - very clunky !
Why can I not add to "my saved places" ?
Just checked and the Google Maps app for iphone works fine, google should sack the entire Google Earth department! - useless app!
Why are "my places" from my windows Google Earth from my PC
not synced to the iPad ?
Two years later still no updates and still sh1te
Not enough layers and not great search facility
If you search on Google's normal website you generally find things with ease but not the case on Google Earth where I typed in several options with little or no success.
For example recently there was mention on the news that David Attenborough had some clips used on Google Earth but you can't search for them, when I tried to search for jungles it took me to companies, similarly when I tried searching for the Titanic ship wreck. Supposedly there's a layer which takes you to view ship wrecks but it's not on my iPad Air 2 app and only an Ocean layer.
Very disappointed and have uninstalled.
Could be much better
1. Hate the icon it looks like it's still installing lol why not just be simple but effective make the icon the earth.
2. There's other apps like imaps that are run by Google themselves that have much clearer satellite views than this app please do s big update and make the zoom in view and street view much clearer
Apart from that can't fault it would be cool if the globe of the Earth on launch looked like the live earth clock weather app it all in concept looks outdated it need a serious review by the developers
