This ap is a life saver!
We landed in Naples on 23rd Oct for a week holiday in Sorrento but we never got there. My husband took an arterial thrombosis and was rushed to hospital in Naples.
We were in A&E and nobody spoke English. We were transferred to other hospital departments and we know no Italian.
One of the doctors had this ap on his phone and it is totally AMAZING!
We can communicate by speaking or writing. I can read the hospital signs (this facility without Internet). I can buy bottles and packets of food and read the contents and check for sugar!
We can talk to other patients and the nurses have now downloaded the so to their phones.
GET it if you need to translate anything.
A life saver!
I am genuinely in love with Google Translate and I use it practically all the time, especially since they started including my well-informed advice and contributions.
However, I'm extremely frustrated by the following points:
1- Not being able to use and download it's dictionaries offline on my iPhone.
2- Not being able to star more words and synchronise them with my Google account.
Once the previous points have been addressed, I shall give it the full grade as it would have deserved.
Google destroys perfectly good app
Google bought the company that created World Lens, an app that allowed you to translate any text that the camera could see in real time and integrated it into google translate. Somehow they managed to make it worse. Now you have to take a picture and swipe on the lines of text, what a load of rubbish
