Good game but...
But I think hospitals and other landmarks should be marked on the map; not necessarily the little map in the corner but when you tap it and it goes full-screen. Also, I wish you could tap things on the big map to make them appear on the little one e.g. you could make it so that you can find Ammu-nation on the little map (sometimes it's not there), or if you want to find a heart to replenish your health, you can find the hospital. Also, cars sometimes swerve too much e.g. I will hit another another car and do a full 360 followed by another half-turn, and end up facing the wrong way. I'm not saying you shouldn't swerve at all; just not that much. Also, this is similar to my last point but things flip too easily. Also, make turning easier. It is ridiculous to turn a corner sometimes. Next, I'd like to say that police shouldn't be able to "bust" you if you have a one wanted level. And finally, I think firing in a car is too close to the directional buttons.
Now this isn't a bad game; I've virtually been addicted. These were just the few faults to find with this game.
As a rockstar games fan I've played this game for years on my ps2, the iOS version actually has better graphics and faster load times than the ps2 original, the only problem I can find with the game is the controls, but its like any other touch screen game, on the iPad (I have the iPad3 with retina display) the screen gives you enough room to get used to the controls game is just like the original, I don't enjoy it as much on my iPhone 4s or 4th generation iPod simply because the screen is to small and the controls are too fiddly... this is worth getting because you can do so many different things on it, racing, driving all sorts of cars, listening to the radio, killing rival gangs and getting your stats up, or actually doing the missions, buy it, its has to be one of the best games on here
Not worth a penny.
The controls and interface are flat-out horrendous. It's the same old gta3, but it is literally unplayable on touchscreen.
You will be retrying each mission about 20 times until you finally beat it by fluke or luck.
Some examples of why this is frustrating and infuriating above anything else (i.e. fun):
When getting shot, you have absolutely no idea by what or from where. You're health just gradually decreases until you notice some enemy taking pot shots at you from a mile down the street.
When driving a car, there are 2 controls. On-screen arrows for left and right, and tilt controls - which for some bizarre reason can't be disabled, so you're either uncomfortable sitting as straight as a plank or drifting to one side all the time...
You can only auto aim, but the game can't distinguish between an enemy clearly firing at you with a bazooka and and old woman carrying her shopping home. Need I say why this is absolutely ridiculous?
I don't remember this being an issue in the original, but the game is very relentless in how easy it is to die, and failing a mission means you start from the very beginning.
This is not a fun game, and for someone hard to anger I almost turn into The Hulk every time I play it. Spend your money on something DESIGNED for touch screen, like Dead Space or Dead Trigger, or Infinity Blade. As for this, for your own sake just move on.
