▶ TapScape review: 10/10
"Great Little War Game is just that: a well-designed and enjoyable tactical war game perfect for those who enjoy the lighter side of virtual warfare."
▶ Touch Arcade review: 5/5
"I'll call Great Little War Game "great" without hesitation" ... "the kind of game you can really sink your teeth into, which is rare enough. So I'm delighted to discover that it's also rich in features, good looking and full of humor."
▶ Top10.com: First place (march)
"The lavish production values of the game, incredible attention to detail and excellent animation gives you a sense of aerial, naval and land warfare that gets as good as you can expect on a small screen"
▶ Infinipixel review: 9.5/10
"Between the improved AI and wonderful new modes, I'm going to have to give GLWG a solid 10 in this category. It features the best gameplay I've found in any mobile turn based strategy game I've played to date."
Varied missions are the order of the day here - capture the enemy HQ, escort the Generalissimo to safety, guide small squads behind enemy lines, defend your base...you get the picture. There are 20 missions included, so it's going to be one crazy ride if you decide you’re brave enough to give them a try.

Far from great..just little :?
Wow what a shame, with so many decades of classic turn based strategy before it this is the best they could do on an ipad2, with an interface system perfect for this type of game this is a missed opportunity.
DOnt be fooled if you are looking for advance wars for iPad this is not it..at all.
It has very poor presentation, with amateur sound and music , though ok animation and a 3d engine. But as with advance wars it is not the graphics but gameplay which makes it so addictive which this game fails epically at.
I suppose to be fair it is ok and worth £1 but no more as I became annoyed by the continuous crash, fresh installs and even when it ran the retarded story and annoying quirks which reek of lazy game design.
Save your money for a tower defence game instead if you need a dose of portable strategy like the amazing kingdom rush or a rts like Z...if you must but there is just not a decent tbs or rts yet on the iPad.
Great Little War Game
I am not much of a game player, but this has me totally hooked! It so additive I cannot wait to engage in another mission each time I pick up the ipad. Graphics are great, although the artillery fire is sometimes bizarre, there could be more user customisation, hard is fairly easy, then it becomes impossible! So the ability to start with more or less troops might be fun, customise maps, perhaps parachuting commandos as a bonus. I am sure the designers are full of ideas for the next missions, great price, great game, it is what it is, a Great Little War Game.
Great Little Wargame
Would have given this five stars if the pass and play was fun too. It soon becomes tedious as units can be produced and able to move and fight in the same turn. This means that as you get close to the opponents capital you are far from your production centres whilst your opponent is getting new units every turn. The end effect means that the game is too drawn out, to eventual boredom.
So saying the campaign missions are well thought out and good fun.
However this is not the game to get my daughter into wargames due to the multiplayer letdown. Those she enjoys the missions too.
Onto see what Great Big Wargame has to offer.
