Excellent Guide covering the main Camino walks to Santiago de Compostela
I used the app for the first time in March when planning my first 100 miles of the Camino from St Jean p-d-p. It gave me information in miles or kilometres of the distances of my proposed stages. This helped me notice my first stage was just too far and change how far I walked. Very useful is the Camino track and the ability to increase the magnification so you can see the town layout etc. There are many information features including the updates every time you access the app so it is always bang up to date. One of the best bits it the information on the way of the towns and Albergues. Very very useful in deciding where to stay, ratings by other walkers and the all important phone number and email address. The only criticism is when you add stages and delete others to suit your own proposed walk, when you log on again the system adds back the deleted stages. Maybe there is away to stop this but I have not found it as yet. When on the Camino the mapping is excellent if you need to know exactly where you are.
I am now using it almost every to plan the next 300 miles which I am doing in May. Once that is done then the final 100 in September.
Absolutely fantastic app!
I’ve walked the Camino Frances route a number of times using a variety of navigation apps and guides. The Beun Camino app is certainly the easiest to use and I love the way that you have an option to plan your own stages.
I’m walking the Ingles (English Way) this October and I jumped for joy when the update included this route.
Keep up the fantastic work guys! It’s so much better than The Wise Pilgrim app.
A great app for anyone about to start el Camino
This app is fantastic for those who are on the Camino and are planning the days walk and looking to book the accommodation for the night ahead. It’s worth buying the route information and is the most up to date / relevant information available for the route you are taking.
The app is relatively simple to use and basic but is well worth having. I would throughly recommend it before setting off
