Rightfully addictive

Well I’ve been on here now for maybe 3 years. That alone merits the title. There are plenty of cons, but to enjoy more you need to choose your alliance well, it may take a few times to get there but when you do you’ll know you’ve landed.
I can’t imagine there being many games out there that can give you inclusiveness into a group of other online users that this game can allow you to experience. You build, you fight, you learn, you gather and you always get the chance for small rewards which as in life is very important. It does take a while to get to a very competent level of castle and be confident in battle to overpower enemies, of course there are always bigger castles, but this is where the collective can overpower even those.
Yes it’s quite annoying that you can spend your way up the ladder quickly, not to mention expensive, but if you experience it more and learn on the job, money isn’t the be all to get to the top. There’s always no and innovative means by which the developers keep you engaged not only personally but as an alliance, and I think this is where this game stands out.
You won’t regret starting out playing GOG.

Decent

I like this game. Yes I was missold the product technically as the advert was completely different to the game. But this review is based on the game itself not how it was advertised. As strategy games go it’s one if the best I’ve played. Not spent a penny I. It and it keeps me occupied through the day. Other strategy games I’ve played do tend to get boring waiting for thing to happen (upgrading buildings, researching etc) but this game offers a few extra things to be getting in with whilst you wait and there’s plenty of free buffs to keep you interested at first. I’m only at level 11 castle so it’s possible that at later levels I’ll hit the same frustrations but as long as this isn’t a game that you plan to play 24 hours a day then it’s fine. I suspect if you wanted to invest a lot of time in this game you would have to invest some cash too. I’m not there yet. Anyway it’s given me several months of enjoyment. Ive played other strategy games that have hit my boredom threshold after a few hours. It would be nice to find a game that could satisfy the gamers who dip in a few times a day and those who spend a substantial amount of time playing however

Fact of Life about GoG

This game cannot be All things to All men as some players expect. (No games are) However, once you have worked out what sort of player you are, accept that and it is great fun. Some guys want to dominate all around them so will need to put time and money into the game, others like to learn, grow and enjoy The camaraderie within an Alliance. This can be done at little cost and is just as valuable to the Team as big spenders. Pick an Alliance that is active, friendly and not overly aggressive; this will allow you time to decide what style of play best suits you. The older Kingdoms are more mature in wisdom and attitude although not without their own Wild Ones! A good place to learn and grow. Don’t be afraid to change Alliances or even Kingdoms if you don’t feel happy where you are. It’s a great game that an be as complicated or as simple as you wish; something long term you can learn at your own pace. I’ve not said anything about gameplay as there is enough said already. I use it as a social outlet where I can play and join in with others at my own pace. Give it a go, won’t appeal to all but to those it does, it’s great👍
