Hailo is the easiest way to hail a ride, hands down! Set your pickup location, select a car of your choice, tap Hailo Now and that’s it! Available in the UK - London, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool | Ireland - Nationwide | Spain - Barcelona, Madrid | Singapore - Nationwide.
Track your car in real time as it comes to pick you up in minutes. Or just kick back and relax, we’ll notify you when your car has arrived. Payments are simple and happen right from the app so you can just hop out when you arrive at your destination. And safety is a top Hailo priority -- all of our drivers are licensed by the local authority.
Why choose Hailo?
Setting your pickup location is a breeze:
We integrate with Foursquare and we remember your frequently used locations.
Getting a Hailo is now as simple as checking the time. Hailo for Apple Watch lets you request a Taxi and track its progress as it heads to you. See driver details, adjust your tip onboard and rate at the end of your journey.
Whether in a classic taxi or a luxury car, it’s easy to choose how you want to roll.
Never again agree to pay for a fare without knowing about how much it will cost. Use our fare quotes feature to enter your destination, and we’ll give you an estimate of how much your fare will cost.
An easy way to pay:
No more fussing with paying for your taxi. Enter your card in our app and we’ll safely and securely keep it stored. Add multiple cards if you want, and you can switch between them for any trip. For those that must, don’t worry as you can still pay with cash.
Trip History and Receipts:
Handy dandy receipts are kept in your history, and we’ll also email you a copy at the end of your trip.
Recover lost items:
One day we left our wallet in the back of a taxi and it made for a pretty bad day. So we thought it would be great if Hailo offered a way to help you recover lost property.
Need a wheelchair accessible taxi? No problem, flip the accessibility switch on and we’ll only send accessible vehicles.
Twitter & Facebook integration:
This is major because if you don’t tweet or post about your journey, how do people know it actually happened? Did it actually happen?
What's New in Version 4.15.1
The sun is shining and we've gone crazy for airports (it might be linked). Did you know that you can pre-book your Hailo to the airport (no more mad panic as you lock your front door)? And that we offer great rates? And that you can even pre-book your return trip? Well now you do - suffice to say we’ve made the whole process smoother than a baby’s bottom.
The app to end all apps.
Having booked about 500 cabs with Hailo since November 2011 (my legs got crushed by a car, hence the need for taxis), I am a very satisfied customer. The service has noticeably improved in terms of the speed and reliability of getting cabs—I believe that there are now over 14,000 drivers. The area covered seems to have improved as well.
Advance booking is here!
Apart from the slick, easy to use nature of the app, which I like to think Steve Jobs would have approved of, I particularly appreciate the automatic emailing of receipts—very handy for expenses.
My limited experience of booking minicabs was that they were either more expensive (booking charges) for central London or didn't turn up. Just the meter fare (+ optional tip) for Hailo.
The attention to detail in this app is awesome: little things, like the up to five minute’s waiting time before starting the meter, to behind-the-scenes things such as the clever algorithms which determine where the demand for cabs is.
Tip for the disabled/hard of walking: the passenger side drop-seat swings out—ask the driver to release the seat—which makes it easier to get in. Not on some older models or the six-seaters.
Great app, much better than Uber.
A fantastic taxi app. It offers so many options: prebook or hail down a nearby taxi, pay by cash, card or Hailo, and the best part is that the taxi drivers know where they are going (without the need for sat nav). They were the most reliable app for getting me through the tube strike, and I consistently get a good service from them. A great app, would highly recommend.
Better options out there
Downloaded because I thought it might cover parts of London that Uber didn't. The app is nice and I understand that this app is to help traditional taxi drivers compete with Uber.
However, the coverage seems to be significantly worse than Uber, prices significantly higher PLUS it strongly encourages you to tip 10-25% automatically on top of that.
The only real point of this app is to help people who hate Uber, which basically seems to just be taxi drivers themselves. To use this app, I would have to get prices better than Uber, no tipping and better coverage.
