Can't count
Running on iPhone 5S with iOS 9.3.5 for about 6 weeks now. Works fine interfacing with my new scales which do exactly what they said on the tin. But if you want it to monitor your activity (e.g. steps) forget it. Crashes too frequently for that and even when it doesn't crash it cannot count steps. I reckon it measures about 60% of my steps when I carry the phone. On regular dog walks it seems to be a random number generator up to the actual number of steps I take (from 1km to 7 km). It can generate nice graphs of your walking activity but the lines drop to zero where it couldn't count. You think it would check the GPS to see if there is a contradiction. Add to that the patronising mails and messages and badges encouraging me to do more activity when it can't record what I do properly and it is frustration. I guess they want me to buy a watch instead, but then someone else said that didn't work either. Body scales are good, though.
Good app
I use this app with the withings activité watch and have been really pleased with both. The app is well designed and easy enough to navigate. I have found the combination of the two (watch and app) have certainly made me more active! The step counter is great, it can take a few moments to update steps, but that's not a problem for me. A real revelation has been being able to monitor sleep patterns, (how long it takes me to get to sleep, how many times I wake up on the night, how much light sleep and deep sleep O am getting). Unlike some of the other reviewers I quite like the congratulatory e-mails and badges etc. I also like the health tips included with the app. I can see that the more apparatus you have, the more useful and comprehensive the app will be. Overall, an attractive, useful and motivating app.
Great watch, good app
When I first got the watch I couldn't sync with the app and to be fair the in-app help was spot on (factory reset and try again). Since then it works fine. Sure, it takes a few mins to sync but all my data is there and the app encourages and guides. Only thing I'm not sure about are the wellness levels which make no sense to me but that is my poor understanding not poor app. In summary I think some reviews have been very unfair and seem to relate to watch/app sync not app functionality which is very good.
