Extremely dated but works ok

The other reviews aren’t wrong; is it incredibly dated. It harps back to when the late nineties & has very few features (comparatively speaking). However, what it does, it does well, it has all I need in a banking app and that is Fast Balance (the ability to see the balance in your account at a swipe without needing to log in) & I’m able to send money to my payers that I already have attached to my account.
Do I wish I could set up a direct debit or standing order? Of course, for an app like this, it should have all of the features the main site does. I don’t have access to a desktop other than at a public library, so for things like that I have to go into the branch, which isn’t exactly local to me.
Overall, it does what it absolutely needs to, but that’s it.

Like the website ...weak

As a longstanding HSBC customer I put up with the app rather than finding it that useful. True I can find by balance easily and all my accounts are on one page but poor design and layout make operations difficult and elongated. Add to this very limited access to records and unless it’s just the last few transactions you are dealing with it back to the full website.

The website is little better. Too much of the screen is taken up with general graphic information. Individual panels are too small making it difficult to navigate and the breadth of records visible limited. It’s too busy and not intuitive . The one plus side is both app and web page are very hot on security and can be trusted.

Overall HSBC need to try again I suspect with the customer at the heart of this.

What a joke!

I never write reviews...infact this is my first one and this app has pushed me to such an extent that I feel it's necessary to come here and vent my frustration this abomination has caused.

Firstly anyone that has given this more than 1 star clearly does not know the standards other banking apps are at. I'm surprised this even made it onto the App Store, who is building this? Interns? Or is this a shody attempt to build HSBCs banking app from the Apprentice?! HSBC download EVERY other mobile banking app and TAKE NOTES while holding this L.

This app constantly crashes and takes far too long to log on. You literarily cannot do anything apart from look at a few transactions, and constantly tells you to use the web for other features. You would think poor HSBC they haven't had the time to make a fix or the resources, for a world leading bank this is an absolute farce and totally unacceptable.

HSBC your entire IT department needs to be fired as this has been going on for far too long...since launch! I have more faith that a camel can fit through the eye of a needle than your developers. Anyone looking to download this don't have any expectations, that way you won't be disappointment.
