Very disappointing - no VSX-1020 support
Why no support for the model I purchased just last December? I understand if there are hardware changes which would limit the functionality but the 1020 is less than a year old and clearly some of the functionality could be supported (even if it's just replicating what's supported by the iControlAV). I bet you
could even do more if you tried!
This app. correctly identifies the VSX-1020 (so there's clearly no problem communicating with it) but then says it's not supported and suggest I use the iPhone app. instead. Come on Pioneer - don't penalise your early adopters - most people can't afford to buy a new amp. on a yearly basis! I think it's reasonable to expect some support and enhancements in the first couple of years - most companies provide software and firmware upgrades. You could easily support an iPad equivalent of iControlAV at least. Or even better - make them universal apps.!
First of all there is a bug in the MCACC settings where "Memory 6" displays a front wide right volume adjustment of +20 by default and after calibration. This messes up my reports!
Second, the App is very basic, crashes a lot, does not have options for bass, treble (tone controls) DRC options and/or other basic controls found on the remote?... Really! No bass or DRC controls?
Emailed pioneer with a bug report and was told that it's not their problem, but apples? Go figure? Tried to email again and was told the issue is an apple issue as it's related to the apple iPad app?... Really pioneer, this is the best you can do, after I spend £600 on an AVR?
No support, poor service, poor app, awful sales and customer service, overall avoid like the plague. Seriously ... Avoid and buy something else, I'm gutted I bought their products and won't be again!
Useful and functional. Seems more stable if you assign a static IP to the amp. Also beware of your router - upgraded to a D-Link device which refused all AirPlay connections!
Would be really nice even if they just updated the graphics to retina res, and the iPhone 5 screen. Come on Pioneer, people have invested in these amps, and we know you have the resource to sort them out.
