We know that the job application process is hard. It’s long, complicated and there’s not enough advice out there for those who aren’t sure what they want or where to even start (hint: us, not that long ago).
And when you’re a student or recent grad, it gets even more complicated: what’s the difference between a grad scheme and grad programme? Should you do an internship? And where the hell do apprenticeships fit into it all?!
Don’t. Panic. We’re here to help; Debut is the ultimate app for today’s university students and recent graduates looking to take that first step into the world of work.

So there you have it - everything you need to help you make an informed first step into a career. But don’t just take our word for it: we’ve been featured on CityAM’s Leap 100 2017 and Startups 100 2017 and 2018, cementing Debut as one of the UK’s best apps.
Oh and don’t forget your feedback helps other students and graduates discover the app and helps us make improvements for you, so please take a moment to leave us a review.
- Your profile has moved out and got its very own home on the bottom right of the ‘Tabs’ bar. Don’t forget to visit and ensure it’s up-to-date so employers can find you. Maybe bring round a congratulatory housewarming plant or something, too?
- ‘Your profile’ isn’t the only feature moving on - Debut Live has also moved in with Insights and can be found along the top of the screen when you open the tab #roomies
- We’ve also been doing some general housekeeping across the Debut app as a whole to fix a few bugs and a broken sink. We do love some DIY...
Ratings and Reviews
Great on paper but frustratingly laggy!!
I spent about 3-4 hours on this app and while I love the concept and the articles, the rest of the app is not particularly functional. This is because of how laggy it is. I have a new iPhone 8 Plus (but not so new that it’s doing background set up actions eg camera roll stuff), nothing open and not on power saving mode. I’ve never had issues like this with any other more resource intensive app. Then why does it lag even when doing the personality test - seemingly the least resource intensive activity of all?! This makes anything timed beyond annoying and frustrating. The same applies to the two unity games from Deutsche Bank and EY. Great ideas! Fun implementation! But the general experience just feels unfair when it takes 5 seconds for a challenge to load (EY game) but once it is loaded the timer goes from full to empty in 3 seconds. Same with the Deutsche Bank game, whereby you accidentally repeat a challenge because it managed to let you know you lost and registered your click as the replay button, before you even realized you lost! Even the initial form for your credentials doesn’t feel as smooth as it should. Overall, it feels like a simple software optimization problem that is locking me out from enjoying the rest of the app. Please fix it!
Hi there, thanks for the detailed review. Glad to hear you enjoyed the articles but very sorry the rest of your experience did not live up to expectation. We will pass your feedback straight to our developers to investigate as it sounds like there is some bugs causing delays.
Ive got myself a Grad Scheme!
Don’t lose hope! I’ve been looking for jobs high and low since I graduated in 2017, though I must admit that I was quite particular with my job search. I wasn’t having much luck, let’s admit it is very competitive and difficult these days. October 2018 and I have been offered a job as a Data Analyst! I couldn’t be happier and grateful for Debut! I got talented spotted from the company and i’ll be starting very soon.
Debut is so easy and convenient I love it and the best thing is they’re constantly improving their app!
Thank you Debut!
Super smart and actually works!
Like all other students, searching and applying for numerous graduate or internship roles is super tiring and takes up a lot of time. The Debut app made it so easy and almost effortless to get a fast-track in the application process, and I would be lying if I said that I didn't have a smile of my face every time I got talent spotted by a firm. I'm not sure how much Debut actually did contribute to me receiving an offer in the end, however, I did apply to a position via Debut and was eventually successful. Highly recommended!
