ICreate iPad

Stictlymac

Had a look at the free sample magazine.
Not really keen on on the design of this app or the layout of the magazine. The text is to small and is difficult to read, constantly having to zoom in is irritating. The text in the picture and illustration captions is even smaller. I don't care for the thumbnail pages popping up from the bottom of the screen . This in my view is a case where the designers have tried to recreate the printed magazine on an electronic device instead of designing the content to suit the device it will be read on. In my view magazines for electronic devices should the ability to resize the text to suit the reader.

I tried the magazine on my iPad Air2 which has a super sharp screen . I will stick with the printed version .

Great Magazine

Alfie195

Great magazine and app. Whats more I had a few issues and spoke direct with Pixel Mags, number on their website. Really helpful chap, no 15 mins of going through 300 different options just to speak to a human, just a friendly chap who knew his stuff. The mag is great as well as a reference tool and you can carry no end of copies around with you without the added weight.

Shame on you

Love the mag but this is bad and I mean real bad, which gives Apple and other publications on newsstand a bad name. I'll think twice about buying another publication on newsstand.

Apple need to review its newsstand software requirements for publishers and ban Interactive Replica's before newsstand loses credibility.

So what's the problem? Well, if you were the publisher hoping to make a quick buck, you'd create a simple front end app and scan the printed copy into what they think is good enough to call a iPad version. Wrong! This is a clear demonstration on how NOT to create a newsstand app.

Each page has a large margin all the way around, which means you can't read anything without zooming into parts of the pages, even then, the quality of text, images and illustrations are terrible.

The iCreate brand is known for its quality, which this is certainly not. I'll buy the printed version from now on!
