OK - not worth £7.99
I purchased this app last week. It is quite handy for lists and multiple accounts. Also, when you re-open the app after closing it you will be at the point of your timeline at which you closed which prevents you from missing tweets. This is a great feature.
However, it should be clear before you purchase that buying this app for mac does not include the iPhone version. They should make this clear on the app store. They expect you to pay £7.99 x 2 if you want to use the app on both devices. This has resulted in me using Twitter on my phone and Tweetbot on my Mac. Another thing I have noticed is that not all of your notifications actually show up on Tweetbot. For example, I have quoted tweets and likes on my Twitter for iPhone app which do not even show up on Tweetbot.
In summary, this app is decent but in my opinion it is overpriced. If you are not using Twitter for professional marketing purposes then you may wish to consider a cheaper option.
Well worth spending money on
I finally gave up struggling with free Twitter clients for iOS and iPhone and splashed out £7.99 on Tweetbot (v2.3.4) based on a personal recommendation - and really wish I’d done it ages ago.
I find it too distracting to keep Twitter open all the time, so I catch up every few hours instead. Tweetbot is ideal for this - by default it starts from where you left off, and it even synchs all your Apple devices so that if you switch to your iPhone you’ll find it opens on the same tweet as your desktop.
Some reviewers reported buying Tweetbot multiple times to get all their devices loaded with Tweetbot - I found that, after buying it on the app store for iOS, my iPhone just let me download it again at no extra charge. So it was £7.99 to cover all my devices, not for each one.
