Text. Call. Check your voicemail. All without a bar of signal. As long as you’ve got Wi-Fi, TU Go keeps you connected. TU Go is available for O2 UK Business and Pay Monthly customers.
To answer calls from the locked screen on iPhone, swipe left when the notification appears and press “Answer”.
TU Go lets you use your O2 minutes and texts over Wi-Fi, on up to ten devices. So next time your phone runs out of battery, you can’t find signal or you’re soaking up the sun abroad, don’t panic. You can still use the minutes and texts from your O2 Bundle.
Who can use TU Go?
- O2 UK Pay Monthly customers
- O2 UK Business customers (excluding Mobex, some B4B and data only tariffs)
- Movistar customers in Argentina, Peru, Colombia and Mexico
- Vivo customers in Brazil
The best bits:
• Stay in touch – choose between your mobile network, Wi-Fi or 3G/4G. And keep connected, wherever you are.
• Travel friendly – use TU Go over Wi-Fi abroad and your minutes and texts will cost the same as they do in the UK.
Here’s what some of our customers have to say about TU Go:
“Thank you O2! The ability to call and text people while I'm on the London Underground with no signal is epic and has had a few people asking me questions on how it works!” – Imhama
“I am currently traveling in South America so this app is saving me large amounts of money... Thanks O2 you are allowing me to keep in touch when I normally couldn't have afforded it…” – Rob Ericsson
“I thought this sounded too good to be true, but it isn't! It does exactly what I want it to. In Wi-Fi only areas, I can make & receive calls, also texts. It works on my iPad as well! Which is more than could be said of WhatsApp!” – Chris_G_Devizes
You can get TU Go on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch on iOS 7 and above.

Frustrating & unreliable
Have been using this for a year now since changing to O2 from EE. O2 gives great signal at my workshop but minuscule to none at home hence the app but it still misses most calls but shows them on the history later! So I call them back and it works. This is clearly not good enough as a standby for O2 alone and very disappointing as their best offer. It would be an improvement if it worked seamlessly with the phone rather than having to go through the app all the time but I appreciate this is probably asking too much. I have been caught out many times with both phone and text believing the 1 bar signal and receiving a call that the phone side is working only to find that it won't pick up the call and says no signal so then have to try and catch it on the app instead. This is for incoming and outgoing calls / texts.
In fairness, it does pick up some calls and texts but by no means all but you may have to edit some contacts or remember their extension numbers as it can't handle these like the phone does where it dials the number and at the ; point it then asks if you want to dial this extension number. Not good for a quick hospital call!!
TREMENDOUSLY USEFUL BUT ONE GRIPE.
I find TU GO to be a tremendously useful app as I can make calls on my mobile from home using either my iPhone or iPad over the wifi network. Far more reliable than the intermittent mobile signal from o2 from the luxury of my sofa! My one gripe is that there are several "nuisance" blocked numbers on my iPhone but these come through on the Tu Go app & I would appreciate the facility too block numbers/contacts in a future update. Nevertheless a tremendously useful app which enables me to use my iPhone and iPads to make & receive calls through from home where the indoor 4G signal is a more than a little "iffy" for voice calls & where I'd be charged for the call if I used the landline. Also text messages often come through on the app on the iPhone & iPad several minutes before they come through on iMessage. I can usually send a message using the app when iMessage tells me "failed to send." So despite the niggle, it's an app I wouldn't want to be without and I use on a daily basis.
Terrific filler app and money saver
Reading some of the other reviews, I'm not sure people understand the app. Either I haven't had any problems with it, or I'm just so relieved to have such a huge improvement in ability to make and receive calls.
We live in an area which has appalling reception on all networks and really poor internet, but with Tu I can stay in touch like a normal person - no more sitting on the loo to make and receive all my calls!
And when I couldn't get the app set up properly, I just went to my O2 shop and those lovely people sorted it. Works a treat, and now it's synced to my iPhone address book it's nearly perfect. The only remaining glitch is that text messages between Tu and iPhone aren't continuous - a small matter but could do with sorting.
