Any 100 km2 map tiles purchased will be updated for FREE under a revision program. Tile updates are unlimited for the life of the application*.

Map tiles once purchased through your iTunes account can be uploaded onto all devices registered to that account (i.e. if you purchase on iPhone you do not have to repurchase on iPad). To do this, simply go to "My Maps" from the menu and then tap the sync symbol (In the top right). You will need to enter your Apple id and the app will start syncing.

Users who are having difficulty in finding purchased maps should make sure they are zooming in far enough.

*or until 31st March 2016 (whichever is longer), updates will generally occur bi-annually as we update our mapping.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life..

Route sync working again and like the improved look in My Maps list

Route sync between devices is back working again. It took a while as I have a lot of gpx files in the cloud but the circle spiralling at the top showed the app was still pulling trails down. Took about 5 minutes as the routes appeared line by line in View Trails.

Panning about the mapping is smooth and the app loads much quicker now as well.

I like the clearer labelling in the My Maps list much better than still saying "buy" when you have bought one scale but not the other.

I also like how the mapping zooms in itself once you have selected a tile to View in My Maps. You can still zoom in out out using the pinch out/in movement and you can double tap to zoom in in stages though that option takes longer.

Just press and hold a spot in the mapping to get a grid ref or lat/long.

Looking forward to trying out route recording once more at the weekend.

One star deducted for: I still think it's a pity we can no longer see a high level list of tiles contained within a map bundle in the "my maps" list - please bring that back! It was great for removing parts of a bundle to free up space on a device.

Great mapping - crazy price

This is a much improved app which I've tested and works well, even without signal on my iPhone 6 it was very accurate at pin pointing where I was.

The biggest drawback however is the price of the maps. I think the Landranger 1:50 maps are reasonably priced, however the 1:25 Explorer maps are crazy money - particularly in the 'tile' format where 3 small tiles cost nearly as much as a full sized paper map. If I'm going to use this more, and I'd like to, OS need to review this pricing!

Continues to get better

I've used 3 fairly extensively for walks and it's fine. 3.0 was a huge leap forward and 3.1 does make managing maps easier: as a tool for looking at OS maps on a phone this is now a really good app.

I still find it too hard to see what tiles / sets I own and which of those I have installed, but this is a relatively minor niggle.
