Good app, but.. please read to the end for an update.

The MBNA banking app is very good. Navigation can sometimes be a little obscure on a mobile device but I’ve always managed to find what I’m looking for eventually. Perhaps it’s just designed for the younger generation! The reason I only rated it 4 star is simple that each time I log out I get two very irritating question buttons. Firstly the “have you been able to do all you needed to do” question, which is just about always “yes”, and if I had a problem I would have addressed it from within the app and not on my way out! Secondly, and the mist irritating, is the “do you want to leave a review” question. As I use the app on a mobile device and as I generally don’t want to sit and tap my screen after I’ve completed my banking activity, I don’t usually want to leave a review, however, this time I have left a review but to complain about having to press those irritating butting each time i log out!!! Please remove it. Thanks.
Update. I was extremely surprised and pleased when I got the feedback from Apple and the developer saying that my issue had been fixed. It took just one day and now I can log out without any problems at all. Many thanks MBNA for a great customer service. 5 stars well deserved.

Hi, we have identified the issue and you shouldn't be seeing this now. If you are still experiencing issues please contact us at mobile@mbna.com.

Please fix the Bug!!

Great App.

However, there’s a bug when trying to pay your credit card bill. To pay you select Pay from the bottom menu, then select either from a bank account or debit card, to the Credit Card account (I select from Debit Card), you then enter the amount and select continue, then continue again, which usually redirects (asking you if you want to “leave” the App) to a webpage where you pay your credit card bill. Unfortunately, tapping continue doesn’t always initiate the redirect; it either does nothing at all or if you continually press continue several times it can work or sometimes you have to restart the App, again several times, for it to work. Please fix.

Terrible, not fit for 21st century use

Absolute rubbish. You need this app now for MBNA cards to function properly but I consistently do not receive any message from them when trying to make online purchases leading to them being constantly declined. No direct live chat or way to contact an operative via the app, instead it relies on driving you to a phone number on which to call them (completely missing the point of a 21st Century app), where you’re like to send 20-30 minutes to speak to someone...who will invariably NOT sort out your issue. I also have partner cards on my account for my wife, but she cannot even use this app when she installs it as inputting her card details leads to an error message as she is not the primary cardholder. Constant efforts to include her own phone number details as a secondary cardholder seem to make no difference either. This means her online purchases constantly get rejected with a message to “contact your card issuer to provide them with your phone number as part of the two stage authentication process”. In conclusion, seems to work fine if you don’t actually want it to do anything important but absolutely useless if you do. My advice is cut up your MBNA card like I’m about to, get another card provider, and install their much more functional apps. I have Amex and Virgin too and both are fantastic and leaps and bounds ahead of this rubbish.
