Through the Ages 12+

My friends and I have played this game every day for 6 months and we’re still looking forward to the next one at the end of each one. It is really the ultimate turn based game. You have to think hard about your moves, but after you’ve moved you can forget about it and go on with your day until you’re called up again. The app is really well done and handles all the complexities you’d have to keep track of in real life for you. I’ve never even played the game in real life, but now it’s one of my favorites. Thanks to the devs for creating and continuing to support such a great game! Ps. Just a side note to the devs about a bug. If I enter the game via a push notification I can often get a spinning globe forever in the top right when I go to end my turn. Normally have to hard close the app and open from scratch to prevent this happening. (Can be annoying if you’ve just spent 10 mins perfecting a move!). But either way, thanks so much for the game!

Had only played the board game once before deciding to purchase the app on iPad. There are so many things to keep track in Tta - science, culture, production, military tactic, civil and military tactic - that for new players like me and my friends, it can feel a bit slow going in mastering just the flow of the game. Plus it currently plays quite long (our second game finished in 7 hours). I am grateful for this app and how it lets us familiarise with the game much more quickly in a much shorter space of time. Love the tutorial and different AI levels! Honestly, even though it takes the most processing power and battery life by far, this is absolutely my favorite game on my iPad - can’t stop playing!! :)

This is a very complicated game. You have to be careful to keep a lot of different things in balance - production of food and building materials, science and military strength. And you have to keep your population happy. I have been playing this game for a few days now, and today I beat the training AI for the first time (while it was on the easiest setting). But the complexity of this game is what I like about it. I can tell it’s going to take a long time to really get the hang of it, which means I won’t get bored. Also, the tutorial is wonderful. It does a good job of teaching the basics, and there is a lot of humour in it too.
