Useless and slow.. Definitely don’t download!

Absolutely useless app. It’s really slow at completing your actions, it’s limited with literally just the things in the paper catalogue... then when you want to use the room designer, you need a catalogue so it scales. How is that any use, you could live miles away from a store so can’t get a catalogue... then there’s actually using the room designer.. or not as has been the case for me. The two items I wanted to try out was a bed and bedside tables... neither are on the ‘catalogue’ and when you try using it for what is there, half of the pictures don’t load for you to choose items so you’re adding random things just to see what they are. And the favourites doesn’t work. I added something to my favourites, went to room designer and it said I didn’t have anything in my favourites.
Tried it on iPhone and iPad, both useless.
Deleted the app from both devices.
If I could rate it a zero, I would have.

Lazy and awful

Reading the other reviews, I thought “It can’t be that bad, can it?”. I’m afraid it’s true. This app is the epitome of lazy app design: it’s more or less a link to their website.

Before, the catalogue was downloadable, so it could be used offline and in their stores where a mobile signal wouldn’t penetrate. Now it’s just a web view component that goes to the IKEA website. Why bother with an app if you can just use the website? Things that you’d think would be clickable are not. Maybe the idea is to replicate the in-store death march in the app and on the website. I despair.

“Mobile app”

Why didn’t you hire a mobile app developer? This garbage is a very poor website scaled down for small screens. This is a textbook example of how not to make a mobile app. Buttons that are difficult to touch, text hard to read. No native mechanics. Locked screen orientation in some views and not others! The AR is a complete joke, no scale, which is the whole point! ARKit is so easy to use, how!? I was really looking forward to the AR feature. How did it make it past apple review??? If you want this done properly give me a call.
