Image Scramble is a fun filled app, the challenge is to unscramble and play with your images from the photo library.
Good, but I have some suggestions to make it even better
I really like the simplicity behind this game. I'm a fan of another similar game but think that because you can set the size of the grid on this one it could be the better one if it had just a few improvements.
Because your last used picture isn't saved when you exit, it is frustrating. I have a lot of photos on my iPhone, but only a few of them are ones that I can use for puzzles. Having to search every time for one is a pain to do. It would be a lot better if you could save your favorite pictures or at least keep the last one you used saved. Same goes for the grid size you set.
A couple of other suggestions are:
- could there be some way of indicating how many pieces you have in the right place? This could be either in the form of 20/36 where it is number of correct pieces/total pieces in grid, or as a % completed. I'd prefer the actual numbers though because if you are not sure if a piece is in the right place then you can tell easily by moving it and seeing if the number goes up or down.
- a message to say that you have solved the puzzle. At the moment there is no way of knowing if all the pieces are in the right places, so you don't know if you have solved it completely.
- a timer to say how long you have taken to complete that puzzle. This could be saved then you can try to beat your best time. If it is saved, then it would need to be linked to the grid size. Linking it to the picture being used would be good too, but IMO is less important than the grid size.
Overall though, this does have a lot of promise and because I can see the potential in it I haven't instantly deleted it which is the fate of most games of this type. It can be tricky with the controls when you are playing on a grid which is 10x10 or more because the pieces are very small, but that is not really an issue when you are playing that size grid regularly as you quickly get used to it.
It's a good game to waste a few mins with, especially because you can set the difficulty to fit with how much time you have to play. The controls can be tricky to get to grips with, but after a couple of goes they are not an issue.
Sorry it's a long write up, but I don't write reviews often so when I do I take more time doing them!
I gave 3 stars, it was 2 but then I changed it. It's 1 star for features, 1 for potential, and 1 for the fact that I like it enough to actually write a review and suggestions.
