iRecord App enables you to get involved with biological recording. Contribute your species sightings with GPS acquired coordinates, descriptions and other information, thus providing scientists with important new biodiversity information that contributes to nature conservation, planning, research and education.
Your data will be kept secure and will be regularly backed up. Automatic checks will be applied to your observations to help spot potential errors, and experts can review your sightings. Ratings and Reviews
Easy-to-use recording app
A convenient way of getting species records into the NBD. The app lets you save entries for later editing or review, or send straight off. The georeferencing works reasonably well, but does depend on the available resolution of the mapping which can change from one location to another. It is not possible to edit submitted records using the app, but this can be done via the iRecord website. No snags encountered.
The best option
If you really want to contribute to the conservation cause and enjoy observing all wildlife then this is the app for you. If enough people use this app it could really make a difference particularly if people note what’s seen around where they live and work. Go on, get it, use it and help change the world.
Very useful for recording species with added bonus of recalling previous places visited. It’s a shame that records don’t transfer over when updating phones but this may be operator error. I.e historic personal records and photos dating back years can no longer be viewed on mobile device.
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
