iWriter is an app designed to allow you to jot down all your thoughts in one simple interface without the fluff of other writing programs. With its clean, uncluttered appearance you can type away without any distractions of too many features blocking your view.
Don't make the mistake I did and install the fantastic - iCloud compatible iAwriter on all my other devices but then install this iWriter by mistake on my laptop. The two look almost the same but it is the iAwriter which linkes to iCloud…. and if you pay for it on one device - it is free on the others. That said - this is astill a great little app for keeping it simple when writing - like stuffing a piece of paper in a typewriter like we used to do in days past - which is another country where my old hack's heart still lies.
Doesn't work with iOS version...
I thought this was the same as iWriter on the iPad/iPhone, and bought it so that I could open documents I'd created on those. But it doesn't seem to be related. The document type is different; these files have the extension .iwd whereas on the iPhone and iPad they're .txt files. The two things are completely incompatible. Really, don't waste your money.
On the iPad, this is a delightful app, easy to use and all the everyday functions on easy access from an extra keyboard row. The mac version does not have a menu bar or other solution for these special functions, does not spell check and can't link to iCloud. Also the web link for support does not work.
An improved version urgently needed
