Description

Hi guys, I’m really excited to welcome you to the shiny new version of my Recipes App now optimised for all the latest devices. We’ve taken all your feedback on our previous version on board, and put loads of work into making the app as beautiful, slick and easy to navigate as possible.

A massive thank you to the millions of you who’ve downloaded and used my app for a while now – we’ve pulled the same great recipes and videos through into the new app, but we’ve added a cleverer, more powerful search tool, useful dietary tags and cooking times for each recipe to make it even easier to find exactly what you’re looking for. We’ll also be updating the app more regularly, with new, beautiful recipes every week, plus super-useful how-to guides to help you master those trickier skills and become a real kitchen ninja.

I really hope you like it, and please let us know what you think!

Big love,
Jamie O xxx

Customer Reviews

The old version was better

The decision to turn this into a subscription service was a poor one. This is a step back. The previous app was better on all accounts, once you payed for your recipe packs they were yours to access whenever you want. Stop paying the subscription and you lose access to recipes. When I buy Jamie's books in the shop the recipes are yours without the need to pay an additional subscription to keep accessing them. Why do this on the digital format. I understand the app is updated with new recipes every week but it would have been better if there were two apps, the old one so you could pay for the recipes you want to have and the subscription one for those who want access to everything and don't mind paying monthly for the privilege. I also miss the information on cooking utensils. The old app was much better for navigating and accessing recipes. It is a shame because this app was brillent. Probably not use it again until this is sorted out. :-(

Because I can't vote 0 stars

I bought the app ages ago, I downloaded many recipes, which I had to pay separately and I loved them. The problem is that now I can't see them and they force you to pay 1.99 a month for renting the recipes?? This app is a SPAM. Where are the recipes I have bought?? Restore purchases is a lie and very frustrated because I still not able to see all those recipes I bought. I should have to buy a book/s with that money or search online for free. I am not going to pay you a penny more, I want the recipes I bought and put your renting crap in the bin, exactly like I did with the money I already spend on your app. This app should be banned from App Store because is SPAM.
Jamie, I am sorry for you because someone is managing your name very poorly and stealing money from your customers. I am deleting your app because it's worthless now. At least I hope you spend my money on a nice car or holidays.

Poor decision to switch to a subscription model

This was a great app but c'mon, *renting* recipes. No. Should have released two versions - one for those who wish buy the recipe packs that interest them and one for those whom are happy to subscribe. Looking at the app now on iTunes is also misleading as the recipe packs are apparently still available to purchase in the "Top In-App Purchases" list but you are only able to subscribe on the app itself. Poor, lame & avaricious.

*Update*

And now with the update to version 3.0, it appears that all the recipes that were purchased, are now lost; even if you click on ‘Restore purchases’ in the app, they do not re-appear. What a con.

*Update 2*

Well with the 3.0.1 release, am finally able to see the recipes that I had paid money for but meh, the cynic in me suggests that degrading the user experience for those of us that have purchased recipe packs before the subscription model came in, probably wasn’t an accident.

*Update 3*

Have noticed that the recipe packs have been removed from the Top In-App Purchases list, leaving just the subscription In-App Purchases - can’t say I have followed the app here too closely to notice when. Bah humbug - Take your subscription ‘model’ and shove it Oliver - Merry Christmas! 🎉
