Kaiju Rush 9+

I love this game because it’s fun, easy to play, the characters are cute, and a 2d pixel art style is always appreciated. However, there’s just one small issue though, there’s a bug where instead of the Kaiju stopping, it keeps bouncing and the only way I can prevent this is by getting the arrow on the yellow and getting a Kaiju calamity, or just restarting the device.

Great game fantastic game, love the gameplay and aesthetic easy to digest in small bursts or a big binge, well made and fun. Would easily be a four or five star game if it wasn’t for one over bearing problem ... ads!

You are forced into watching ads at every turn if it was ignorable or a choice it would be much more understandable

Unlocked 6 Kaiju eggs? You can only hatch 5 at a time but you can speed the process with ads

Earned a free upgrade? It’s locked behind an ad to get and you can no longer progress that upgrade through normal means

Want to ignore the double reward after a run for watching an ad? Great ... but we might make you randomly watch one anyway with no bonus to your reward

You’ve done 5 runs and get a special reward ... but after watching the ad first can’t forget that.

You can avoid ads completely for a weekly £7 fee, this is extortionate, this subscription also provides other rewards but considering the games or other things you could buy with that money it is not worth it, and with the level of ads I’d say it’s almost predatory in its application.

Honestly it is a fantastic game that I can’t fault there is nothing wrong with it as a game on your phone for fun, I will probably still play it every now and then in small bursts to minimise the wall of ads, in short it’s just the ads are obnoxious in there application and if you can put up with them you have the patience of a saint.

So I’ve been prompted to review this game several times and have been hesitant as mobile games are often great to start and then go downhill after a couple days. This is unfortunately what happened here. The game itself is cute, fun and taking a normal mobile game into something different. A little over the top on ads, but not the worst mobile game I’ve seen for ads. However I’ve recently made it to the second level and now it keeps crashing whenever I try to launch my Kaiju. I tried restarting the app, playing the previous level and even restarting my phone but it hasn’t fixed. A shame really as I was really enjoying the game and unlocking the different monsters. If the crashing issue gets fixed, this review would be much higher.
