Lacks Apple’s polish

This is the first review I’ve ever written on the App Store, so great are my feelings about this app. Whilst it’s a great tool to have as an app with some nice features, there is a definite clunky feel to this app with many niggly bugs. The inability for example to write or even view presenter notes on the desktop version seems a glaring error, yet has still not been addressed in the almost two years I have been using it. The iPhone version can’t seem to accurately remember which slide it was on when you unplug the HDMI and plug back in and most recently, if you are using the iPad as a remote control, the iPad slides “stick”, yet tapping continues to progress the presentation on the iPhone. As with several of Apples offerings, since Jobs departed, the polish and shine seems to be missing, making them just ‘good’, rather than GREAT.

Great app, but update removes support for physical remotes and keyboards

A great presentation app that’s easier to use and more visually distinctive that PowerPoint. Unfortunately, the latest update breaks compatibility with non-Apple remotes and physical keyboards, meaning that you have to physically tap on the screen to advance slides. Fine in certain circumstances, but no good if you’re presenting to a large audience and don’t want to be chained to the iPad.

Hopefully this is just a bug that will be fixed in a future update, but it’s hard to see how this one got past user testing since it concerns a central function of any presentation application. If this is important to you, I’d advise holding off from updating until support for remotes is reinstated.

Great app but iOS11 update loses keyboard!

It’s a great app, very reliable and easy to use. There are very few things I want to be able to do that I can’t do easily using Keynote. I present a lot at work and Keynote is my go-to app. **BUT** unless I’m mistaken, you can no longer use a physical keyboard (Smart keyboard etc) to click between slides during a presentation. You now have to touch the screen. It’s a little thing but I co-present with a non-tech-savvy person who would prefer a physical keyboard. Please replace this functionality!
