Komodo™ is a non-trivial, super-effective way to help young children master mathematics.
Regular practice is the tried-and-tested approach to mastering arithmetic. Komodo makes this painless in a super-rewarding way that kids actually enjoy using. Aimed at ages 5 to 11, Komodo's adaptive technology tailors the learning experience to the needs of each child, adjusting as they go along. Komodo’s focus is on mastering arithmetic and mental math/maths because this is the key platform for future success in mathematics. It takes learner through counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication - including times tables, division, fractions, decimals, percentages and many more essential topics.
Here are few key points and features:
•Komodo is not a game – it’s designed to be effective without keeping children at the screen too long
•Komodo reports back on your child's progress as often as you'd like, and allows you to set real-life rewards to motivate them along the way
•One of the most important parts of a child's learning is your involvement. Komodo helps you support your child's learning in a way that you'll both find quick, fun and rewarding too.
•Komodo's adaptive system allows kids to skip to an appropriate level once they have mastered a topic, so even the most able should find it constantly rewarding and challenging.
Ratings and Reviews
My 6 year old has been doing Komodo for around 6 months now and we think it’s great. We can see him building a really secure foundation in maths.
I particularly appreciate the fact that he goes in does his lesson/lessons and that’s him in about 10 minutes so it’s not adding to our battle against screen time! Really impressive too is it’s flexibility to customise through the settings. I’ve changed a few things from standard to make it really suit my son. All in all a really well designed app that I’m certain is really helping my son with his maths.
Hopeless. The initial screen asks you to log in, but necessarily you haven't got a login when you start. They don't give you direction to a place where you can create one. Their web page is not an address you can readily guess. After much fishing around, if you're lucky, you might try the "developer website" button on the app store, and get somewhere. At which point, they'll own up to this being a very expensive subs-only service (GBP 8 a month or GBP55 a year). Sorry, but I'm not taking an expensive punt on a company so inept that they cannot test a workable login process and so dishonest that they won't be upfront about their charges.
Hi there. Sorry you had difficulty logging into Komodo. We ask that new customers start a subscription on our site before downloading, but unfortunately we're not allowed to link directly to our site or explain this fully due to the app store rules. If you go to our site you'll see we're open and transparent about pricing.
Perfect as a short regular exercise.
A fun regular exercise for a reluctant kid. Her confidence really grew with the help of this app. We started to do as many lessons as she can handle, but I found the best for us is to do only one lesson once a day. We use this and bingo app for math too. I don't use the reward system, too much hassle it seems. Just introduced it as a routine much like brushing teeth. Good luck!
