Good effort, could do better
SATS are coming up so purchased this as my son loves his maths and likes a challenge. Whilst it's a relatively good way of 'brain training' he was ground to a halt on two or three occasions and just couldn't get his head round the answer... Having viewed the multiple choices on offer, on each of the occasions they were brought to my attention, the choices did not relate to the question or there was a digit missing. It's ABSOLUTELY imperative that the answers are correct, checked and triple checked before publishing the app. Imagine the slating a TV game show would get for broadcasting an incorrect answer - it's credibility would be lost, unfortunately that has happened here. I can see the app has already been updated once for answer modification so there must be a need to get everything checked again. Possibly rushed out? I'm not sure. Developer; Use your time sensibly, don't rush against the clock, and double check your answers if you have time at the end... :)
What a strange app
The concept of the app is good, especially as it offers an approximate level for the children once they have completed the questions in each section. However, after a very brief practice with the app, I discovered two questions that couldn't be answered: none of the multiple choice answers matched the question being asked. Beyond this, it has no value as an app to promote LEARNING as it gives the children no indication whether they have answered a question correctly or not. It does not identify incorrectly answered questions, giving the children a chance to retake them or even show what the correct answers were so that the children could improve their understanding. This COULD BE a very useful app. At present it is a waste of £2.99.
Good questions, poor setup
Good variety of questions. Sometimes gives an incorrect answer when it's obviously correct. Each time you go back to a test it's the same test as before?? Meaning you have to flash thru to move onto a different test. Restart the app the following day, you have to flash thru 2 tests to get a new one. When you have a genuinely incorrect answer it doesn't tell you the correct answer??
2 stars, 2.5 at best. Good idea but seemingly rushed setup.
