How Mobile Games Should Be
Leo's Fortune is a fantastic blend of beauty, creativity and accessibility to make it a mobile gaming must-have. The narrative is perfectly implemented into the gameplay in the form of short, entertaining cutscenes to give the player a sense of what they're achieving whilst travelling through the vast world of scopic envrionments. Sleek, innovative and easy-to-use controls compliment the experience massively and it is exactly what other mobile developers should learn from. Besides the prettiness and style, the overall character of the game is very memorable with it's funny characters and hilarious dialogue! However, the level design can become repetitive and otherwise frustrating some of the time (not much); which could lead people to just delete the game. Nevertheless, Leo's Fortune is a fantastic adventure and is, in my opinion, the second best mobile game released this year. I highly recommend!
Other app developers take notes.
This is easily one of my favourite games on the App Store. It has simple touch screen controls that aren't just a ported version of a console controller and therefore actually make sense on a touch screen. The gameplay is easy enough to pick up yet takes time to master, but not because of frustrating controls like most ios games.
Visually the game is stunning; very sharp and detailed with a beautiful and unique art style. The missions come in perfect bite size chunks that can be completed in 3-5 minutes which is well suited to mobile gaming.
Sound is top notch too with melodious tunes that don't grow too annoying and fun little vocal cues from the protagonist when events such as a puzzle being solved happens. This is basically the only review I've written on the App Store because the game just deserves it that much! More levels and challenges please!
Ok let's get this straight as a rule I don't pay for many apps, the last platformer I paid for was Sonic the hedgehog which I love but today I decided to get this. And I am glad I did it's got some very good and clever level design, the graphics are some of the best I have seen on the pad and move so smoothly, the parallax scrolling gives a real sense of depth to the levels. The controls , I have only used the default, take a little bit of getting used to but after a while you start to get used to them and then when you die ,and you will die, you know it's due to an error by yourself and not because of the controls. At 99p it's well worth it I have already played it far longer than 99p would give you in the arcade. Basically just get it and you will soon realise why it's been getting such good reviews.
