“[A] surprising iPhone and Apple Watch bestseller is pushing the boundaries of fiction” - boingboing.net
“This is the best game on the Apple Watch” - Time.com

Lifeline is a playable, branching story of survival against all odds. Using your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, you will help Taylor make life or death decisions, and face the consequences together.

Acclaimed writer Dave Justus (Fables: The Wolf Among Us) weaves a gripping interactive story through the aftermath of a crash landing on an alien moon. Taylor is stranded, the rest of the crew are dead or missing, and Taylor’s communicator can only reach you.

A totally unique experience enabled by modern devices, this story plays out in real time. As Taylor works to stay alive, notifications deliver new messages throughout your day. Keep up as they come in, or catch up later when you’re free. You can even respond to Taylor directly from your Apple Watch or your iPhone lock screen, without launching into the app.

Or, dive in and jump back to earlier points in the story, and see what happens when you make a different choice. Simple actions can have a profound effect. Complete any single path to restart the story and unlock this mode.

Lifeline is a deep, immersive story of survival and perseverance, with many possible outcomes. Taylor is relying on YOU.

NEW in version 1.8: Stick around after the game for a special story epilogue from Dave Justus. For players who have already finished the game, the Sneak Peek becomes available under the game options. Enjoy!

Praise for Lifeline:

“I’ve played many games that I find engrossing, but Lifeline may be one of the first that changed the way I thought about my daily routine, which leapt off the screen and became a part of my lived experience.” - Eli Cymet, Gamezebo

“I felt an immediate attachment to a fictional character pinging me from a strange galaxy to my wearable.” - Luke Hopewell, Gizmodo Australia

“[P]laying it on the Apple Watch makes you truly feel like you’re exchanging messages with an astronaut via a futuristic transmitter.” - Michael Andronico, Tom’s Guide

“For a few brief hours I cared – really cared – about the fate of a completely fictional character. I don’t think any other game I’ve played has made me feel that way before.” - Matt Thrower, PocketGamer

Editors' Notes

The first in a series of groundbreaking text adventures, Lifeline kept us in suspense the whole time, desperately awaiting the next message from marooned astronaut Taylor. As you receive text notifications telling you what Taylor’s doing, you reply with instructions on which way to travel, whether to explore a derelict ship, and other crucial decisions. The tension mounts as you try to help the castaway survive, and the option to rewind and pick different choices makes the game wonderfully replayable.

Immersive game...

Admittedly to start off with, when Taylor started making a load of goofy jokes and references to modern films, my interest wavered but I just kept playing out of sheer curiosity. But as the narrative progressed I slowly found myself making more and more glances at my phone, wondering what he was up to, until one day, I just played on it for hours, completely shattering the immersion but I couldn't stop playing. Eventually it went dark outside and I turned of the lights. Slowly however (and maybe I am too easily scared) my palms started sweating as I read on and on, always making Taylor take the riskiest options. Eventually, (and I don't know if this is me or the game) he seemed less and less responsive, seemingly going mad perhaps...

In conclusion, this is an amazing narrative with great original ideas included, and perhaps it is not the best writing or text I have seen, but it is well made up for with the immersion included. To have the full effect though (like any good book) you have to imagine it is real. Just as I did.
And look at me.
Look at my green... oh so green eyes.
They wait....

Outstanding

TheJTeam101

An outstanding title in a brilliant series, a must have for any iOS user and watchOS user alike. It is especially amazing on the Apple Watch, responding on your wrist to the story really is the future of this genre of gaming and really immerses you into the story; simply a staple game for the device. Being able to control and manipulate major plot lines (and return to them later to see what else could unfold) is an amazing story telling motif and kept me interested throughout. The story itself is exciting and tense, much more interactive than reading any book would be ordinarily.

5/5 and totally worth the money for this and all other titles in the series.
