Description

The London Diving Chamber (LDC) phone application is designed as a key resource for scuba divers. It has advice and easy-to-follow instructions for what to do in an emergency, whether a diver is suffering from the bends, has problems equalising; has been stung by a jellyfish or many other common incidents that may be experienced on a scuba diving trip or holiday. If a diver is suffering from decompression illness (the bends) this application will use your current location to work out where your nearest decompression chamber is. There is a practical pre-dive check list that will go through the key points to ensure you are both physically and mentally ready for your dive. The extensive A-Z of diving medicine in this application will answer many of your dive medical questions and if you cannot find what you’re looking for then you can simply send in your query direct to the doctors at London Diving Chamber who will get back to you. In addition, this application has a dive log book facility that enables you to log your dives.

Fantastic App!!!!

Dindylocks

This app is fantastic. I had been diving and a couple of days later I started to experience pains in my body and blurred vision. Being a relatively new diver and not wanting to ask my dive club about my symptoms for fear of them thinking I was stupid, I started to google my symptoms and was sure I was suffering from DCI.
Thankfully, I stumbled across this app on one of the websites I was looking at and I filled out a diving incident form and submitted it. The fact it was done without having to phone anyone made the process so easy, less embarrassing and meant I sought help much sooner than I probably would have done had I had to phone someone. Within an hour, I was contacted by a doctor who asked me to come in for an assessment and I was recommended to have a session in the recompression chamber with a follow up shorter session the next day.
The staff were all so friendly and made me feel welcome and most of all, made me feel that I was not stupid in the slightest.
This app probably saved me from injuring myself on a more permanent level and had my health back to normal within 24 hours.
Thank you do much, this app is highly recommended by someone who has used it and the facilities that come with it first hand!!!

Potentially life saving

Packed with tons of excellent and vital info, as well as contact numbers and a walk-through incident reporting process for anyone who is not trained in how to deal with an emergency. o2 for the casualty and a call to 999 are the most important first two steps though.

Why are people asking for dive gear check lists and dive site maps etc? Make your own. This app is relative to safe diving and dealing with emergencies, such features could detract from the importance of what this app was designed for.

Great app- 2 little extra things please (v1.1)

Update wouldn't work so I had to delete from phone then reinstall it. Works fine now. Would love 2 things 1) up to date contact details of all chambers as well as address- phone numbers etc 2) links to good websites dealing with DCS/articles. I had a bend 3 weeks ago in Majorca and used this app to find local chamber and contact LDC. Good articles etc on app would have been bonus. Great app and a must for all divers.
