London Tube Map and Guide 4+

This is my favourite app, places of interest and journey planner very nice, station departure boards sometimes inaccurate, the widget is the best part as you can see the status of all 15 tube lines, an idea for the widget is a tick list feature where you can tick your favourite and most used tube lines that you want to see the status of in the widget, also push notifications with a tick feature to get the status of chosen tube lines, this would make this app the best in town

I downloaded this based on the reviews that I read about it. It seems to get really good reviews from people but I don’t know if they’re using it just to look at the map because as a route planner it’s absolutely atrocious. It doesn’t even give you the most basic route between two points nor does it give you an actual accurate route. Basically it’s just a straight line. For example Wapping to East Acton should only take 40 min via Overground, Jubilee and then Central Line. This one tells you to go from Wapping all the way to Shepard’s Bush on the Overground and change there for the central line. But you can’t do that from Wapping. You cannot go straight to Shepherd’s Bush from Wapping because you have to change at the very least once but depending on which train you take twice to get to Shepherd’s Bush. This is the kind of route it gives you. It only gives you a straight line route not an actual one where it has to take into account that particular tube trains final destination. The developers really need to sort this out if they want to make this app a success for the London tube system.

Have used this app for several years and it’s always been good…but not now.
The map shows the Elizabeth line but the journey planner won’t route to any station on the line nor will it offer this line as an alternative. E.g. route from Paddington to Heathrow always uses Piccadilly line.
Also the map used is different to the map in EVERY tube station. I know it’s an alternative map but it just makes it harder to use.
The display in dark mode results in some text being black on black.
Have switched to TfL Go which does routing and status, and is free. Sorry Tube Guide I really liked you. ☹️
