Designed from the ground up for iOS, the new “Marantz Hi-Fi Remote” is a brand new app for iPhone and iPad will give you an unprecedented level of command and control over the latest generation of Marantz network audio player and music system products. Along with many new features, the graphics and user interface have been completely overhauled.
Control the basic functions of your Marantz product with power, volume, input, and settings.
With a new landscape orientation control screen for tablet devices you can easily browse and navigate through your network music services or personal digital music collection with ease; and at the same time view ‘now playing’ information and cover art all on a single screen.
Our new playback system allows you to easily build your own personal music playlists on the fly with the ability to Drag & Drop files into your queue, or tap to “Play Now”, “Play Next”, “Play Next and Replace Queue” or “Add to End of Queue”. You can then save your queue as a playlist for easy recall.
With the new “Marantz Hi-Fi Remote”, your iOS device just became an integral part of your home entertainment experience.

Ratings and Reviews
It’s slow and tends to just ‘hang’. Overall it’s poorly executed
You’d think this being Marantz it would be a good app that’s useable and worthy of the brand. But it isn’t. That’s not to say that it’s unusable because it’s not that bad either. This app will work but it’s all so slow, buggy and too many times it tends to ‘hang’ for ages before it controls what it’s supposed to. The lag time is too much and it’s simply not responsive enough. It can also lose the hardware it’s supposed to control so you have to set it up all over again. It’s not been updated in ages so I suppose this is it for the current range of hardware. I’m using it with the MCR 611. Disappointing overall.
Marantz should be embarrassed
I have a lot of respect for the Marantz brand, having owned a number of their products over the years and while I am very impressed indeed with the hardware ( 611 ), this remote app is utterly dreadful.
I’ve updated the firmware, unplugged the device and set the network control setting as advised, but this app scarcely ever works and usually refuses to work - even fiddling around with settings doesn’t always get it working.
It won’t switch on the unit, the volume adjustment takes a second or two to take effect, which means you overshoot and then have to readjust, and DAB radio tuning bizarrely only shows the frequency, which no other DAB radio bothers showing as station names are an inherent part of tuning digital radios.
I was relying on this app allowing me to control the basics, but it can’t even do that and it diminishes the usefulness of what would otherwise have been a great music system.
Please completely rewrite this app and offer a version which is in keeping with your usually high standards. Other manufacturers have created excellent remote control apps, why can’t Marantz?
What a Wonderful app!
I am blind and i never used a product without a screen reader now this hi fi has no screen reader but when i using this app because when controling the hi fi from the app voice over acts as a screen reader. I was able to go to front and rea usb internet radio and dab and CD functions easly. Now when there is a button that has not been labled properly then what you do is flick to next item on the screen then flick back and voice over wil say button again but with some extra info to let you no what this button does. Good look to all blind people out there and all other people who read this review. From T.H ps i think this app desurves all the 5 stars as i think it is such a good app. So i think this a majer majer majer go.
