A great game let down by shoddy customer service

One of the best bits of the Final Fantasy series, especially number 7 was its combat. Upgrading your characters, building them up and then sending them to fight. This game captures the spirit of that perfectly. You don’t need to spend any money to play the game, although it will speed up levelling and character acquisition. The offers it throws at you aren’t too obtrusive and the mechanics are fair, giving a casual user a good experience and a gamer a good challenge.
Sadly the game is let down by its customer service. Initially quite good and fairly responsive this changed to point blank rubbish! I purchased some in game currency (power cores) but failed to arrive on my account. 5 attempts to contact customer service have lead to either no response or a Request for a screen shot of my receipt (they should have this on file!!!) I got a refund in the end and i will NEVER buy from them again, no matter how good the game is.
So in conclusion, great addictive game with crappy customer experience. Shame really!!!

Expensive and infuriating, used to be good now I genuinely HATE this game

This game used to be a decent game, now however, Scopely have ruined it. They release characters at an alarming rate, all these new characters are so over powered that they decimate established teams in the game, so unless you have the newer toons you lose. Of course the only way to get the new toons is to stump up cash, lots of it. Annoyingly, the new toons are not made farmable at the same rate they are introduced into the game, so if you don’t stump up the cash early, you know it’s going to be months or even years of playing to actually unlock them not to mention build them. I understand games needing to make money, but this is just too much of a total rip-off. Most of the alliance I’m in have had enough and looking to move on. I’d suggest to anyone looking at getting this game to do the same, move on.
There is absolutely no thought for the loyal players who have spent hours per day on this game, establishing good squads to have them demolished by new teams with a fraction of the power.
Also notice how the only replies to reviews are when the game doesn’t load, totally ignoring the VAST majority of reviews which are terrible, they don’t care, the newest aspect of the game, crucible, is so comprehensively bad it’s almost unplayable, some of the strongest squads in the game getting demolished by teams less than half their strength, who comes up with this????

It’s good but…

The overall game is actually really good, there are some really good game modes and the variety plus a constant stream of events keeps it fresh. My big gripes come with resources (material shards, character shards etc) either not abundant enough, or when farming/grinding it literally becomes a grind because the game gave you a different resource to the one you need (for clarity some levels have 2/3 different resources and your reward is partially randomised). The game offers up more to do the higher you are in level but there comes a point where progression through the levels slows right down so that it’s taking about a week just to go from level 55 to 56 and most of the best content isn’t unlocked until you reach a really high level 65-70+ which you can do without spending a penny it’s just very time consuming. Whilst I’m on the topic of spending, I have no objection to using physical cash to improve your experience and also know that it’s through people buying from the store that enables the game to be high quality and free without annoying ads, however I do object to the price points some things are offered at, there is no way I would hand over £99 for something that is just a game on my phone and that wouldn’t even take you close to the top level.
