We’ve turned learning addition into a fun Martian bubble-popping game. Plus, it’s all against the clock. Tap through each set of twelve sums correctly and you’ll get enough energy from the cheeky Martians to help Spaceman Sam fly his rocket back to earth. If you fail to do it in time (60 seconds), he’ll be stuck on the red planet until you succeed.
So, let our Maths Martians app give your child a head-start on their road to Maths success. Play with your child or play against them, however you play you’ll combine learning with fun. When it comes to taking the first fun steps towards successful numeracy/addition, we think it’s a hard app to beat.

New Timer makes all the difference!
Love it! Good Martin-popping fun (nice graphics and noises) and lots of different types of Addition sums to solve (My kids will grow into some of them as their Maths progresses). Now the timer's been doubled to a minute it's much easier but still challenging enough to make the kids want to beat each others' times and get the spaceman home. It's fun to watch them play as the timer gets close to the end and they only have a couple more Martians to pop. We've got the other 3 Maths martians apps on the iPad have been using them a lot at home, (and now at my daughter's school). The Division one is pretty tricky though and probably for older kids (I struggled on the higher level ones!).
As above there is too little time. If there was an option to change the time limit and turn the time music off all of your apps would be on our 100 school iPads. However there is not.
The stressful music is not fun but raises anxiety and the 30 second time limit is an absolute joke. On your addition app you have a +1 section! Great I thought! But hold on..... Oh no..... a child that may struggle to answer 1+5 has a 30 second time limit to answer 12 questions?! Who on the development team thinks that is a realistic academic exercise or even possible for a child of that ability?
Sort it out please and get some advice from people who actually work with children.
Too little time...
The Maths questions are all timed and there's no option to turn the time limit off. It's quite challenging for a small child and there should be an option to play at their own speed. It can be discouraging to a small child to be constantly told they have failed due to an arbitrary time limit.
Until an option to play without the time limit is added, I would not recommend this app to any parents.
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
