At MBNA, we like nothing better than beavering away in our office, number-crunching on our favourite monogrammed calculators and creating new, colour-coded spreadsheets for EVERYTHING, including the coffee-making rota. In other words, we’re boringly good at credit card stuff, which doesn’t exactly make us ideal dinner party guests, but does make people want our credit cards in their wallets.

We do it all - balance transfer credit cards, money transfer credit cards, transfer and purchase credit cards and low rate credit cards. nuba credit cards are ours too - mustn’t forget about those funky green guys!

To help you stay on top of the numbery stuff, we’ve created the super-slick MBNA app.

Here are some of the clever things you can do with it:
• Report your card as lost or stolen.
• Set up and amend your Direct Debit.
• View pending transaction details.
• Make a debit card payment.
• Request a balance or money transfer.
• View balance summary.
• Activate your card.
• Check recent transactions.
• View your PIN.
• Increase your credit limit.
• Download official statements.
• Order replacement cards.

You can access your account anytime at using a smartphone or tablet, a laptop, or even your trusty old desktop computer. You can also give us a call if you prefer chatting over tapping and swiping.
How to register for all this good stuff
Make sure you’re registered with Online Card Services before you download our app, or you won’t be able to log in. To do this, visit and select ‘Register’. Have your credit card handy, along with the letter that came with it or your latest statement. Go and dig it out, we promise it’ll be worth it.

What's New

Version 2.2.4

For this update we’ve been under the bonnet, tinkering with some of the technical stuff that makes the app work, fixing some bugs and making sure it’s running smoothly. That does mean you’re unlikely to notice any major changes though - everything looks pretty much the same.
We’ve also included some changes in line with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). You’ve probably heard a lot about that recently - it’s important every company follows these new rules.

Good app, but.. please read to the end for an update.

The MBNA banking app is very good. Navigation can sometimes be a little obscure on a mobile device but I’ve always managed to find what I’m looking for eventually. Perhaps it’s just designed for the younger generation! The reason I only rated it 4 star is simple that each time I log out I get two very irritating question buttons. Firstly the “have you been able to do all you needed to do” question, which is just about always “yes”, and if I had a problem I would have addressed it from within the app and not on my way out! Secondly, and the mist irritating, is the “do you want to leave a review” question. As I use the app on a mobile device and as I generally don’t want to sit and tap my screen after I’ve completed my banking activity, I don’t usually want to leave a review, however, this time I have left a review but to complain about having to press those irritating butting each time i log out!!! Please remove it. Thanks.
Update. I was extremely surprised and pleased when I got the feedback from Apple and the developer saying that my issue had been fixed. It took just one day and now I can log out without any problems at all. Many thanks MBNA for a great customer service. 5 stars well deserved.

Hi, we have identified the issue and you shouldn't be seeing this now. If you are still experiencing issues please contact us at

Full functionality.

This is the only credit card company whose app lets you do everything you need, and lets you see all the information you need, as long as you press all the right buttons. In particular most firms make it almost impossible to work out when an interest free period ends, and therefore how much to pay a month to avoid paying interest, especially if you have done multiple balance transfers. The only improvement I could suggest is that a page showing all balance transfers, with amounts, and when they revert could be shown in one screen, as you do have to visit different places at the moment. Having said that, bonus points for showing it properly at all !

Hi, thanks for leaving a great review, we really appreciate it.

Nearly perfect but desperately needs TouchID

This is a great app and let’s me do everything I need to - I use it all the time and it’s very fluid and intuitive.

It was good to see log in made slightly easier recently when the need to press ‘go’ twice was removed - now when you press it after typing in your password it logs you in, where as previously you had to additionally press log in.

However, it’s incredibly frustrating that after all these years of Touch ID existing on iPhones, that MBNA have ignored this wonderful, time saving feature. Not having to type in my password manually every time I log in would be a godsend. My RBS banking app has had it for about 3-4 years so I can’t understand why this is not being added.
