McDonalds and app developers need to back to the drawing board
This app is supposed make the ordering experience quick easy and convenient. It doesn’t , it makes it harder & doesn’t work at all . First time I tired to order my partners credit card was linked to the app - ordered within app while at home - got to the restaurant- app didn’t know I was there - even on full signal 4G - connected to McDonald Wi-Fi same eventually location picked up by the app - tired to make payment -error message “ there has been a problem with your payment “ called my partner to make sure there was no issue with the card - tried again 3X still same .then staff member knocked on my window and handed me a bag with one burger -not my order -still hadn’t gone through on the app.

Placed order inside in the end on self serve machines .
Then the app received an update - thinking this may have fixed any bugs - tired again - this time tried to add my visa debit card to the app - this time error message -telling me - that my card details are wrong -they not Ive checked and re checked -app needs serious app date to fix all the bugs and issues . It just doesn’t work
Charged three times, had to leave drive thru to go instore
Ordered using app for the first time, appeared to go through fine. Arrived at McDonalds & app couldn’t tell we were there, using either full strength 4G or their own WiFi. Tried drive thru who couldn’t access order & sent us inside. Queued for ages while retrying the app which connected and let me pay just as I reached the front of the queue, then gave an error. Showed app to staff member and was required to pay for order again at the till. Ordered was prepared by three people who seemed utterly confused and it was brought out on trays without bags or cup holders, because it had been marked as an instore order (even though I had requested take out). Got it bagged up & took it to the car, food was cold by the time we ate it. Checked my credit card app and have 4 pending payments for the order, one for zero but three separate transactions for the full amount. Staff member said the app ordering has been problematic since it was installed, and they’ve only had one day of it working. Great idea but very poorly executed, won’t bother using it again unless reviews improve. McDonalds should pull the ordering functionality from the app until it works consistently.
Crap but good money maker.
We used the app for the first time last Sunday. My husband ordered the food at home and his card details and drove to McDonalds. He got to the car park and paid as per instructions tell you to. 3 times it came up as failed so he went to the window at the drive though to be told he had no order. He drove home collected his wallet and went back and tried it for the 4th time still come up as failed so he was asked to go into store. He went in and was told it wasn’t going though for some reason & he would have to do the order instore with the college. Which he did and he was given our food. I checked the bank and the 4 orders had come out of our bank plus instore order. £68 for breakfast is a bit excessive so we rang the branch and we had to go back with the bank statement and they would refund us. Which they did £49 back to us. The Tuesday came and I noticed the bank had cancelled the transactions and gave us our £49 back as well. So £49 profit from a crap app wasn’t all that bad in the end, just about covers the petrol we used driving back and forth to the restaurant. App is now deleted complete waste of time and effort.
