MemoryFreer does just what it says - free up memory, especially the inactive memory that occupies the precious RAM on your computer. It greatly improves the performance of your memory-hungry applications such as Photoshop, Safari/Firefox, Office, iWork, Parallel/VMware, etc.
Just click "Free Memory" button and watch the magic work! In some occasion you may need to run it a few times to shrink inactive memory to minimal.
MemoryFreer can also serve as a memory usage monitor, with real-time usage shown as a pie chart on menubar.

Seems good…but makes you wonder what else could be done
I've given 5 stars because it works great…but I'd be intriged to know how it works and how it could be expanded. For example, I find myself repeatedly clicking the "free memory" button and it keeps on obliging….um…why cant the system automatcally do whatever this widget does? Surely Apple are smart enough to include this in Lion if its a "no brainer"? And how come it keeps working every click…why not work in one big hit?! It would be nice to see what programs are using the resources, so you could close down a particular program. You can sort of guess to see what happens when you close one program down…but would be good to see "largest first" list of resources perhaps? And CPU resource clicker, a little like (on a little I hate windows) like the task manager.
For £0.69 I'd buy it twice!
I have been using Memory Freer for a few weeks now and it has been especially usuful ever since I installed Lion and even more so now that I started running Final Cut X Pro.
I have an old 24" iMac with 4GB of RAM and it is clearly struggling from time to time (more often than not lately) managing intensive tasks.
Also I like to make sure I have as much RAM available as possible before I start a Minecraft server or do some photo/video editing because it's the most annoying thing to run out of RAM half way through the edit and have to wait for the spinning rainbow.
The visual representation is nice but what I would really like to be able to do is expand each section and see how much RAM each application is using, however you can always use Activity Monitor for that.
For £0.69 it's a great little App and now that I have used it and have seen how usefull and necessary it is for my machine I would buy it at twice or even three times the price. Saying that I really hope that the price stays the same.
Just got it and it is brill
I saw other reviews on other apps doing the same thing and they said they were crap they said it didn't do anything but this one worked it was a lot like ifreemem if anybody has used that before but this is 'really' cheap compared to ifreemem and it works in the same way fab buy!!!!
You definately need this if you play heavy duty games like COD or Sims and stuff like that becuase it makes the game run faster i have noticed!!! i hope this helped!!
