Ratings and Reviews
Great app, needs performance improvements
Hi, I very much enjoy the Mendeley app, it’s definitely my reference library manager to go. However, the current implementation certainly underperforms under heavy load. I have bought the premium plan (so to accommodate more than 4 GB of .pdf files), but when choosing to sync/download all of them, all hell breaks loose. You developers know better if that’s due RAM memory issues or whatever. But when offer paid plans make sure the customers get what they’re paying for. I’m sure you’re working on it, so I’m looking forward to future app versions. Also, please make sure that .pdf files can easily be imported to the app. He safari extension you’re suggesting is currently a dead link. All the best and much appreciation for your hard-work.
Acceptable but could be much more
I use mendeley as the primary reference manager on my laptop, where it does an amazing job. The ease of importing into the mobile app is good, but I really want to be able to free-form annotate files using the Pencil without having to leave the app: this would be a fantastic feature. This would enable me to mark-up my annotations and sync them across all devices without having to:
Export from mendeley to GoodNotes
Mark up in GoodNotes
Re-import into mendeley
Delete the original reference
In the process this also freezes the annotations in place, leaving me no way of modifying them later on.
With real pen support, this app would be the one-stop place for annotation and serious academic reference management with sync back to a “proper” computer.
But unfortunately it is crashing now after this recent update. Please fix it as soon as possible.
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
