Great magazine! Terrible app....
I really don't know why after all these years the app is still total garbage... Can you see these reviews? To access your magazines you must sign in... Ok fine... BUT it usually takes a few attempts before it registers that you've signed in. It constantly signs me back out. This is really frustrating when I just want to read my magazine.
Also why is there no auto download? It's a real pain having to click on each magazine one at a time to initiate a download then leave the iPad open otherwise the download stops. This is a serious pain if you have mutiple magazines to download. Which I usually have because I never use this app.
There should be an auto download function and a single sign in as well. If you you want people to use this app over a magazine it should be as convenient if not more than a magazine. Signing in every time I put my iPad down for 2 minutes is not convenient.
Issues don’t stay on my phone
I don’t understand why I have to repeatedly download issues I’ve already purchased. It seems that every time the app undergoes an update all my purchases disappear and I have to Restore Purchases or individually download issues I already own. This is really annoying, especially when I want to read an issue and I have no network due to being on the tube. If I pay for and download an item I want it to remain on my phone so I can use it when I want it.
Waste of time
Often with magazine apps it seems they intentionally make them broken so you buy the paper edition. This one is no different.
The preview is also a two fingers to any would be subscriber, you'll get as far the Table of Contents, the previous pages being all adverts. If you're a first timer, don't expect to get a feel for the actual content.
Overall, a very poor and lazily written app which the developers seemed to have abandoned. Avoid.
