Customer Reviews

Open file format persuaded me.

OneNote now does everything slightly more easily than the other note and drawing apps. The proprietary file format has been opened by Microsoft giving every opportunity to access data into the future on any platform that might be invented. So, given it’s free too, what’s not 5 star about that?

Great to use...when it works

This is a great tool for note taking and I much prefer it to Evernote. Especially now Evernote seems to want to limit the number of devices you can use it on.

However it’s not without problems. In common with some Microsoft software working on OSX there are occasional and catastrophic crashes which don’t seem be patched very quickly. The problem can be persistent and disappointingly take a long while before the bug is fixed.

Not what you would expect from one of the so called giants of the industry.

Having said that don’t let it put you off unless seamless 100% reliability is absolutely crucial to your life.

Slooooooow to start

Each update has made it slower to start. I use it for a number of things but most frequently for a grocery list. Generally when I get to the supermarket I have to wait 15-20 seconds for it to start up which has prompted me to start looking for alternative apps.
