What's New in Version 15.11.2
If you felt your life contained an insufficient amount of Purple have we got the setting for you!
OneNote now has the option to use a newer, purple-er theme.
This has great reviews so I thought I’d download it to take a look. On attempting to open the app the user is required to log in to a Microsoft account, or create an account if you don’t have one. I don’t have one and don’t want one, but there was no option to skip this step, and the Quit function was greyed out. This meant that I had to Force Quit OneNote before I could delete it. If anyone from Microsoft should ever read this, this is exactly the kind of thing that makes me hate your software, railroading me as a user into acting the way YOU want. A perfect example of corporate arrogance.
Interface getting laggy
Don’t know if it’s the new theme, but the interface is becoming laggy. Show/hide toolbar animation is now maybe 3 jagged frames total. Resizing the window is also laggy and turns the whole inside white for the duration.
Issues are minor and it’s still a great app. At this point though, performance improvements would be much more welcome than new features!
What’s the point in making it stand out like a sore thumb?
