What's New in Version 15.18

- Sick of circling things? Keeping chart axes straight have your mood slopin' down? We've got your back. You can now add perfectly crisp lines, polygons, and other geometric miscellanies from the "Insert" menu.
- We spiffied up Search over the holidays and added some new tricks! Now: search all of your OneDrive notebooks, even if they're not on your device; zippier results, so zippy you can search for things you're already reading and *almost* find them quicker; and, as before, see glimpses of notes you haven't written yet. Wait. Not that last one. But the rest!

Terrific

I used to use Circus Ponies NoteBook for academic notebooks to collect online links, snippets, jot down working notes etc. But I fear it now feels inelegant, clunky. OneNote by contrast is elegant, simple and Just Works (and so far, the slow addition of further features doesn’t seem to have spoilt the basic simplicity). What’s not to like?

As to Evernote vs OneNote, I use both, but for somewhat different purposes, as it has turned out over the months. Evernote still is excellent for everyday scrapbook use, random notes, jottings, assorted stuff: I use OneNote for academic work. (I’m not sure I can fully rationalize that division, but it works best for me). Both Evernote and Onenote are free. Both are great at what they do. Again, what’s not to like?

Issue

I have been a great fan of One Note for a few years - it’s an indispensible tool, especially on PCs rather than Mac. However, on my Mac a pasting process was interrupted and could not be completed. Now One Note is unresponsive on my Mac - trying to paste something that no longer is available. I have tried force-quitting. I have deleted and reinstalled One Note on my Mac. I have tried everything that I can think of but the first thing that OneNote tries to do on being opened on my Mac is to start the pasting process!
One Note is synced to my iPad and iPhone and PC … all work fine. Its only the Mac that doesnt function.
Apart from that I would (and do) highly recommend One Note to anyone.

Wouldn’t use anything else

OneNote is far more accomplished app than Evernote, featuring vastly more (and better) formatting options, media support and a more user friendly notebook>tab>note nesting method. The differences are like night and day, so it’s no suprise that I’m being more productive now with my business startup.

Did I mention it’s entirely free? No, you’re not charged to use the app(s) offline either…

The only improvements I want to see are; an easier way to move tables around, more Mac version features in the iOS counterparts, and better legibility of files that have been inserted into a note.
