Legendary Beast meets Legendary Game in Minotron: 2112
In 1991 Llamasoft released LLAMATRON: 2112, one of the most popular games ever on the Atari ST and Amiga, considered by many to be an all-time classic.
Today, 20 years later, the Minotaur Project brings you a modern update to that legendary game, featuring a legendary beast - the Minotaur.
Faster, smoother, and in every way better than the original, MINOTRON: 2112 brings you 100 levels of intense, fun and humorous arena shooting action, laced with shattering explosions and spectacular effects.
Four game modes offer fun and challenge to players of every level, from novice to hardcore, on iPad or iPhone.
Minotron: 2112 is OpenFeint enabled, and achievements and leaderboards are maintained in both OpenFeint and GameCenter. Get your beast on and challenge for the highest score!
With the release of Minotron: 2112 Llamasoft emphatically reaffirms the Minotaur Project's status as THE place to go to for great controls, excellent fun, and stone cold classic arcade action.

MINOTAUR 4 LIFE!
What's New in Version 1.01
Control and performance improvements, including selectable left- and right-handed controls as well as the default adaptive controls.
I've always been a huge fan of Jeff's games back in the Amiga days, so immediately jumped at the chance of reliving this psychedelic experience.
The iPhone version is everything I could have hoped for, with mesmerising graphics and truly chaotic gameplay.
It does tend to get a bit intense, and on the iPhone screen it can sometimes be difficult to move the character accurately, but it's forgivable. I'd love to give the iPad version a go though.
There was an occasion where the game locked up at the beginning of the third level, for no reason. Quitting and reloading the app didn't fix it but a phone restart did. I'm not entirely sure if it was the app's fault or iOS being a pain, but thought I'd mention it regardless.
Jeff, you're a legend! Keep up the excellent work.
Retro goodness. Flawed controls
Brilliant retro game brought to iOS.
Worst. Controls. Ever.
There's some kind of on-screen dual-stick control scheme going on, but I can't for the life of me work out exactly what it is. Tried the right- and left-hand schemes too, which are better but still need some kind of on-screen feedback as to where the virtual direction pads are.
I'm fully prepared to admit it's just me being an idiot. Maybe I'm just getting too old for this stuff; after all I remember playing this on my old but trustworthy Atari ST back in the day.
I do like the IntelliVision samples though. From the classic crowd cheer (hole-in-one!) to TRON's deadly discs and of course the title screen brings back boyhood memories.
Not perfect, but great for Amiga fans
For me this isn't quite the best of the robotron clones because it is limited to 8 firing directions, which makes it frustratingly difficult with touch screen controls. However it is a trip down memory lane for Amiga and Atari owners, and they will be familiar with the 8 way limitation due to original joysticks only having 8 directions. I suggest an option for firing in any direction, although I realise this may unbalance the game play enough to necessitate a whole new game. Also perhaps a two player mode could be implemented, since that was a major part of the appeal of the original.
