Well worth yer booty
The monkey island series is a 90s gaming classic and a fantastic source of entertainment (especially since such a immerse game requires no Internet connection). Still and funny and puzzling as it was 20 years ago, MI2 is well worth yer booty.
For those experiencing in-game crashing. I too had this issue when I reached chapter 2 (I am playing this on iPad 1.) I shut down my iPad and reopened the game. After this I was able to complete the entire game with no problems.
This game will take you at least 4-5 hours to complete (if you're not using hints anyway) and it's cheaper and more involving than a two hour movie. In my opinion, this is well worth the 4 pieces of eight (well, £3.99) I paid for this
Awesome game - but falls over on lvl3
Really loved Monkey Island on the Amiga 500 when I was little. This is just stunning to be able to play it with better graphics all these years on.
Sadly this one crashes at the end of chapter 2 though. I enter the crate, two guys come along and it crashes. I've got no way to complete the rest of the game now.
Newest 'bug fix' doesn't fix the crash at the end of level 2. This is really starting to get annoying. It's cheaper now as well, just drawing in more people to a game they can't complete.
Has been months since the last update which was supposed to fix this but didn't. I'm really starting to loose faith in getting anymore kind of support for this. Even a note in the description warning people planning to buy, and informing people who've already bought would be nice! I've tried contacting the company direct and got nowhere as well.
I'd say hold off buying if you haven't already, it's not worth the hassle of not being able to complete the game.
I loved playing the original and this is just amazing. All the original jokes and humour and a fantastically redesigned and iPad friendly package.
I'm not sure what all the complaints are about regarding crashes. I have just played through both 1 & 2 and the only crash I found was using the settings menu mid game in version 1. Both versions played through flawlessly otherwise.
Definitely worth a download for reminiscing sake alone. I loved it. Now where's Day of the Tentacle and Sam and Max!
