AI needs improving a little
The main difficulty between the easy (default) and higher levels of difficulty is that the AI works out the necessary dice throws needed to land on properties it needs, or avoid yours as necessary and makes sure thats the dice outcome. It doesn't become any more difficult as such but is very frustrating when you see the AI throw the dice and get jammy time after time after time, collecting money but not losing any, and languishing in jail while it picks up massive rents from you. It will look at the possible places to land on the way round and work out the least expensive, landing on taxes and stations far more regularly than it's feasible to do just to avoid landing on your houses or hotels.
In saying that I've beat it a straight 30 games to nil so far, even across all levels.
Pointless playing against computer opponents
Generally a nicely presented app, but it gets annoying to play because the computer opponents are so stupid even on the highest difficulty level. They bog the game down by repeatedly offering the most ridiculous one-sided deals imaginable (e.g. if you give me this last property I need for a set, I'll give you this other thing you don't even have any in the matching colour from a set that's still split between three players, oh and give me some cash while you're at it). In auctions they bid up in tiny increments so it takes ages to finish. And there are a couple of other UI elements which are fiddly and should be tweaked (e.g. do we really need a dialog box to confirm or cancel every single action short of rolling the dice?). Shame, as with a little more attention to detail it could have been a really nice version.
First off, I must say that I'm very happy to see it at 69p, I've been waiting a long time for this to come down in price!
I would also like to say that it's TOTALLY worth 69p, and everyone should get it while it's cheap!
I've not had any problems in terms of gameplay (I played a full match against hard AI and thrashed it, so very happy there).
I am not happy that when you load the app up, at least for the first time anyway, that there were a couple of other game pop-ups for other products. Which is fair enough, if this was a FREE GAME.
If you pay for a product, you shouldn't have to put up with adverts as well!
But I guess that's EA for you... 4/5 stars, as it's such a good game still.
