An amazing reference for anyone interested in the human musculo-skeletal system. Featuring five different ways to learn about the body: The VIEWER, ACTIONS, 3-D MODELS, six types of QUIZZES, and MEDIA.
VIEWER: The viewer allows you to control a 3D view of the body, with labels that lead to full screen images of 145 muscles each with the name, action, origin, insertion, nerve supply and comments for each muscle. The viewer also includes all the bones with detailed landmarks.
ACTIONS: The best way to learn about muscles is to group them into their actions. In this section, choose from over 37 body actions, and see an animation of the action, with a visual list of muscles that perform that action, plus comments in each section.
3D MODELS: There are seven 3D models, each model allows you to control a body area in 3-D space, with multiple stops along the way that identifying the structures and give comments on each area. Models cover the ankle, knee, pelvis, shoulder, face, hand, and a detailed look at the vertebrae.
QUIZZES: 6 types of quizzes! 18 pages of label matching quizzes where you have to match a name to the correct location. Multiple choice quiz builder that allows you to test the name, action, origin or insertion for each muscle. Skeletal quiz tests your knowledge of each bone name. These two quizzes feature adaptive quizzing which adds your missed answers to the Favorites, allowing you to test yourself on only what you have missed (or create your own quiz on just what you want to learn). The Action quiz tests your knowledge of every joint action in the body. The Spelling quiz tests spelling of muscle and bone names. The general quiz tests your knowledge of general muscle and bone anatomy subjects. You can also email your scores to an instructor or friend.
MEDIA: Thirty beautiful pages of basic muscle and bone info along with common musculo-skeletal conditions. Five imbedded videos (16 minutes) that give the basics of the muscular and skeletal system. These videos cover the arm, torso, face, leg, and fascia.

I'm doing a PT Diploma and after trawling the App Store, trying & testing different apps, this is by far the best suited for the anatomy & physiology part of the course I am studying now. It has exactly what I need, including the facility for me to make my own notes within the app. No need for note pads, scraps of paper, paperwork & books, this app means I can keep everything in one place & study on the go. I only recently noticed the media section as I originally thought it was Facebook link etc. but actually it has references to other information needed for my studies so more impressed than I was to start with! Only complaint... The speaker that says the body part aloud doesn't always work. But I would happily recommend this app to anyone studying A & P.
Suggestion to authors for improvement: It would be useful to be able to jump between muscles & bones without having to come out of one or the other (like a pop up window or something) for when I want to see where insertion point might be for example, without having to find and go back in to original muscle. Or maybe even link from the word within the muscle description to the insertion point.
Great for revision
I am currently on a level 4 sports massage course and obviously need to learn a great deal about anatomy. This app is fantastic for it and makes course work so much easier. It has some great little quiz's to keep you learning and engaged.
This is they type of thing I got my iPad for to use software like this. I struggle to just digest text from books so seeing what it looks like in a 3d model and been able to explore the body in depth it a,axing and really intuitive.
This app is incredible! It was recommended to me by my trainer as I am studying A&P and he thought it would be helpful. It is extremely helpful! The images are so clear and detailed it makes it so easy to understand and remember. The quizzes And tests are also impressive - I'm finding myself very surprised about how much I've learned without even realising it.
I can definitely recommend this app to anyone who is studying or even just interested in A&P.
