Make a profile in seconds and then scroll through other nearby mums, see all the things that you have in common (wine lover? mum of multiples? tech nerd? Our tags make it really fun) and invite people to connect, message and arrange a meet-up.

What you really need as a mum of small kids is a local group of mums who know things you might not. You can use your area Mush-up to ask questions and organise area-wide meet-ups.

Usability review

Ok so for what it basically is, an app to meet other mums and dads - it’s fine. There’s some very annoying usability problems with this app and as the user base and content has grown and evolved naturally, this app has not. Admins keep banning/erasing content which is “buy/sell” even when it is in the buy/sell thread. The interface should only allow you to post into the buy/sell group and not allow other groups to be tagged at the same time. Or alternatively every local group should have a sub-thread which is buy/sell. This would make more sense as something for sale in Leeds may not be applicable for London N1.
People can spam by joining 100s of groups and posting to all of them. Interface should only allow you to post to X number of groups at a time. EVERYTHING appears in your mush ups feed. This should be split out and you can filter on groups which you want to see - like a main menu to choose which group you want to view.
You can request to befriend someone but you can’t undo it.
Mush ups should have date fields and perhaps there could be a calendar function to promote that content.

Developer Response

Thank you, this is really helpful feedback. A lot of this stuff we are working on at the moment as we are now overhauling the app having grown so quickly. You can turn off buy/sell notifications and you can already post to a number of groups at the same time - but not everyone is doing this so we need to improve! Thanks again, will share with the team. Great app for meeting other mums!

I have a 6 month old, my first child, and this app has been the best way other than my NCT group of meeting other mums on a weekly basis. It's been an amazing way to connect with groups of likeminded mums I love it! It's really straightforward but also has really good details (lets you find mums by likes, like coffee, fitness, craft, outdoors- lovers.) And also has a section for reviewing good places to go. I have discovered coffee shops I never knew existed!

It's got a Facebook / What's App style messenger as well which is good and the notifications aren't annoying (they are nicely off to one section). Loving it so far! And recommend it to anyone I meet.
