New version very improved
17th August and a new version of My BT which has ironed out the former problems. Thanks BT for working hard to rectify the errors.
The new version of My BT is not good. The old version was excellent.
On the Home page the drop down menu to choose between my two accounts (landline and mobile) is missing on the iPad but not on the iPhone. Consequently it is impossible to change accounts to look at usage etc.
I deleted the My BT App and reinstalled it - the drop down menu to change accounts was back but after logging out and back in again - it had once more disappeared.
Tried to contact BT on their chat line but for technical issues you have to phone. The chat man couldn’t even log it as a concern.
Bring back the old version of My BT.

This seems to be an iPad problem but not affecting the iPhone. Do get in touch as I can send you 3 photos of screen prints from my iPad showing the problem. The App is missing the little drop down menu at the top where you can change from your mobile to landline account. Sometimes it’s there and sometimes completely missing - seems random.

Very poor app from the UK’s biggest telecoms provider
Horrible to use when you have a problem with your WiFi dropping. Using the app to chat with an advisor is awkward on an iPhone. The in app testing sequences for checking your connection are drawn out, bloated, and often stall.
..... BT staff reading this, just try using the app on 6S plus on latest iOS. Typing messages is awkward, in app testing seems designed to waste time rather get down to whatever is wrong. Call me paranoid but it seems this app is designed to be slow and waste your time, so that when you eventually finish the broadband checke test, your annoying intermittent broadband failures have fixed themselves.... great except an hour later your broadband goes down again, and then after using this app for 5/10 minutes it’s fixed itself before the app can log a failure.....
Developer Response ,
I'm sorry about this Krayzkat. In what way do you find the chat feature awkward on the iPhone? If you are experiencing connection problems this could be why the tests are stalling as they are struggling to stay connected.

Worse than useless
Utterly useless. Worse than useless because it wastes time and adds to the frustration of what is already generally very poor BT service in semi-rural areas.
The app requires broadband to be working in order to check the broadband status for errors. It times out every time the checks are run using 4G mobile data, and if run in one of the (few) minutes when my broadband is working, stating frequent drop outs as the problem I want to report, it tells me that my broadband is connected. The light on my router tells me whether it is working at any given point, I don’t need an app to tell me that.
Worse than useless because the app is advertised as helping with broadband problems such as frequent drop outs. Turns out the broadband needs to be working in order to be able to report a problem with the broadband. Presumably nobody at BT has heard of Catch 22 ?!
