The My VW app sets out to offer to Volkswagen customers a personalised, enhanced user experience. The ability for a user to access real time, actionable information about the status of his car relies on using some personal information such as Surname, Address... etc. The My VW app is compliant to all existing security standards and data privacy rules and regulations.
We take your feedback seriously so we've made a series of improvements:
- Booking a service is now quicker and simpler.
- Service history is now displayed for all of your cars.
- There are now useful handover notes for your ordered car when it's delivered to the retailer.
- A number of performance enhancements and bug fixes.

VW processes need more work, poor updates
The app it’s self is fine, easy to use and intuitive.. the problem is with the actual VW factory processes. The updates provided to customers are supposed to inform them of when to expect delivery of their new vehicle. However, when the new vehicle is manufactured in Mexico and then Shipped to Germany for QA, the updates don’t account for this. You get an update when your new vehicle leaves the Mexico factory.. but the update says it will take 4 weeks to reach your local VW retailer... wrong! It takes 4 weeks to reach the German factory for QA and then another 3 / 4 weeks to reach your local VW retailer. So in reality 7 / weeks since manufacturing is complete.
Also, when the status shows as ‘in Transit’ this also doesn’t account for when your new vehicle is stationary at a port in another country, waiting to be loaded on to a ship for transport.
Update your processes VW in order to provide more accurate information to your valuable customers.
This app is absolutely terrible! Not because of its design, or its construction, it is (as you would expect from a copy like VW) very well made and functionally very rich.
The problem comes in the fact that it does not update the ‘My VW’ status, which is the primary purpose of the app.
Since this will often be a customers first experience of interaction with VW this is quiet surprising. You would think that VW would want ‘first impressions’ to be of reliability and good service. This app gives the opposite impression.
The app allows you to build the specification of a VW car that you would like then go ahead and order it through the dealer network. You can then watch the progress of your car as it transitions through a series of delivery states up to the point when you take delivery. The problem comes that VW do not update the app with the status changes.
Both my friend and myself ordered new VWs and we both had similar experiences with this app, so this is not a chance occurrence. Our order were months apart so it was not a minor glitch. The issue has existed over an extended period.
VW this app is damaging your business, it presents you as uncaring unreliable & incapable of fixing your issues. Sort it out!
A more roomy Golf
We had our Golf SV for about 8 months and not had any problems other than a tyre warning light coming on. Was a false alarm after checking tyres and phoned dealer who told us how to get rid the light. Only disappointment has been the ride, not as good as our other Golf. Have tried putting all tyres at 30psi but only a small difference. Overall very happy and would recommend if you want a cabin with extra space and higher driving position than normal Golf. It is a MPV in British terms not a SV. Dealer, Robinson’s of Norwich first rate.
