My Cocktail Book is an app created by London based Mixologist and Bar Consultant: Gavin Forbes. It was created with bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts in mind and we hope you enjoy it.
The app is designed to help you organize and remember the various cocktails you create and discover by providing a secure way for you to store and backup your recipes. Gone are the days of scribbled down recipes on pieces of till roll which inevitably end up as mulch in your washing machine.
We have tried to make it easy to share your drinks with friends (and us) by including email sharing and posting to Facebook so you can show your drinks to all your friends!
Take a photo; add information including glassware, ice, ingredients, method and garnish; and organize those drinks by category. Those categories are completely up to you. We use them to organize our own drinks, classic drinks, friends drinks and to create menus at places we work or have worked.
We have included some of our own signature drinks, our colleagues drinks and a selection of classics. We have used our preferred recipes but we actively encourage you to change them as you please. That is the beauty of My Cocktail Book!
Over time we will be adding new cocktail recipes directly to the app, which will be available for every user to import for free. If you want us to add one of your signature drinks, email your recipe using the share function to email@example.com.

Ratings and Reviews
No usable search
I like the list of cocktails, no the notes about them. But not being able to search properly is going to make me uninstall. Every cocktail belongs only to the General category, so if I select Gin, I get no results. Further searching by keyword appears to only search the cocktail name and not the ingredients. It is impossible to get a list of Gin cocktails.
I'm sure this would be a 5* app if the categories and search were fixed
Developer Response ,
Originally, I was going to pre categorise all the drink recipes during the build, but I decided against it last minute to give the user more control, by allowing them to create their own categories. However, I appreciate your feedback and may decide to pre install categories on the next update, as well as improve the search function. Sorry about the notes, but it’s editable like all the other functions. Thank you, Gavin
As a wanky bartender I have had minimal use out of this app - thankfully I know my classics. I have a feeling that (Gavin) the Consulatant, doesn't believe I have the potential but hey ho, love you Gavin ! Other than that, sick App, cheers for the good vibes and negative visits to Grind. Love you mate xxxx
Not for the horizontal!
As a free app very reasonable and English! Other apps tend to be American and with alien or American Brand ingredients.
Have installed and then deleted several of these.
However would be nice if it displayed landscape mode (horizontal) on the iPad especially when using with a keyboard stand.
Developer Response ,
I originally created this app for my own personal use, but over the years many cocktail enthusiasts have been using the app as good tool to record and share their own recipes, so I’d really like to make it very user friendly. I appreciate your feedback and I will take it on board for my next update. Thank you, Gavin
