Description

myTracks is the swiss-army knife for organizing your GPS tracks. They can be loaded from a broad range of devices and organized in a library comfortably.

Once imported you can drag & drop photo files to myTracks and they will be assigned to the GPS tracks automatically. The GPS information can be written to the EXIF and IPTC tags of the photo files (Geotagging). You can use any photo organizing software such as Photos, iPhoto, Aperture, Lightroom, GraphicConverter or even the Finder. myTracks can handle both JPEG and RAW file formats.

GPS tracks can be exported as GPX, KML or KMZ files. You can use the exported files, e.g. with Google Earth.

Besides the dedicated GPS loggers a free iPhone App called "myTracks - The GPS logger" is available on the App Store. You can use this App to record GPS tracks.

Using iCloud you can easily synchronise all your tracks between all your devices (iOS and macOS).

See the supporting website for more screenshots, screencasts and the complete list of supported loggers.

Great app

Syncing tracks made with the iOS myTrakcs app via iCloud is really useful - also happy that the developer is updating the macOS app again!

Efficient solution

I’ve been using Sony and Olympus geotag syncing iPhone solutions, as the mirrorless cameras ideal for travel have no GPS hardware solution yet. I also use an iGotU 120 but the lack of support, outdated firmware and poor (PC required.. back to the 1990s) tools make it trouble to use. Tried MyTracks on the phone, within minutes was able to share to a Travel folder on my iCloud Drive, and then use PhotoLinker (needed for the iGotU) to adjust the camera timestamp by the required precise seonds to match the timing with the phone. Have paid for the OSX App as this will work perfectly if I can just get the several cameras and my phone synced to within 10-15 seconds (1 minute is not good enough).

This is a good solution - the ‘short time’ options for recording just 15 minutes for example is ideal for a photo-stop when touring, and will not run the phone battery down like all-day tracking. As there is no pairing camera and phone with Bluetooth (Sony, eats battery life on both, and requires them to be within range) or sync uploading to camera (Olympus) via WiFi which asks the phone WiFi to be set to connect (and can be inaccurate despite the QR code time sync function) - battery life on cameras and phone is maximised. Accuracy however is poor, with the track wandering many metres off-course regularly, but that’s down to the phone not this software. Recommended.

Not sure I like the new UI

The map space is very much more restricted, especially on a laptop screen.
