Still a very crappy app
I’ve just downloaded the app again in the hopes that it has been improved but sadly it’s still as crap as ever. Nothing works! It doesn’t let me order food online, despite of being signed in. Only giving me the options of cancel my order, sign in or register but the two latter options do not work at all do only really giving me the only choice of cancellation my order. IS THAT WHAT NANDO’S REALLY WANT???
If I go for the ‘sign in’ option, it will tell me that I can’t sign in because email/phone number or password are not valid but obviously they are the same as I’ve always used. The ‘register’ works ok to the point where you have entered all the details and press register, then it will say email not valid, phone number not valid and postcode is not valid. I would love to know in what format is this stupid app excepting the email and postcode??? Didn’t realise that there were other formats for them! As regards the phone number; I have tried 079, I have tried 4479 and I have tried +4479 but I wasn’t aware of a 4th format that the app is obviously expecting. Would love to know what that is!
I have saved the best until last! The biggest laugh of it all is if you go to ‘forgotten my password’ and then follow the email link. It says new password can’t be the same as old password. Clearly it knows very well what my password is but chooses not to!
Nando’s are really doing everything they can to lose business
Nando’s has chosen to introduce their own delivery service instead of using some of the easy-to-use and on convenient delivery services such as Deliveroo. Fine. However, instead of actually offering a sensible and usable app to order food for delivery, Nando’s has chosen to create a completely useless app, which is not only a total pain to use due to its bugs but importantly, the app doesn’t allow you to order for delivery as using that function means you get directed to Nando’s delivery service on a separate website, which (you guessed it) is a total pain to use. Safe to say, I won’t be ordering from Nando’s anymore until they can bring themselves to the current decade and have a decent and convenient app for both pick up and orders for delivery.
App is good, but still requires improvement
The best feature the app has to offer is the ability to check and monitor the amount of chillies you have accumulated; it’s simple and easy to navigate.
Although I haven’t ordered food via the app regularly, as I prefer to go in and eat at my local restaurant, the few times I have used it, I was impressed and pleased with the simplicity and haste at which I was able to move through each part of the process.
It is also a good feature how you can add a chilli through the app, if you didn’t have your card handy at the time you visited a restaurant.
However, the app isn’t without its inadequacies. The app seldom crashes, especially when I try to locate other Nandos restaurants on the map; this needs to be addressed.
On a personal note, I would like the lifetime chilli count feature to be reintroduced.
Overall it is an effective and useful app and I would definitely recommend downloading it, if you are a regular Nandos visitor - 4/5.
